Straw Hat « Thread Started on Jan 5, 2007, 4:07pm »
I LOVE her hat! At first it seemed overpriced, but it is definitely not. It's good quality and SO cute! The suede cord is a nice touch. It also looks like it'd go with all of her outfits. A+!

The hat is cute. Pink suede like material twists on top to make a band and comes down through eyelets on either side to form the chin strap. Can be adjusted by the wooden bead at the other end. There is also a grossgrain lining on the inside of the hat to keep the hat from scratching the doll's head.

I have tried that hat on her a few times. The hat actually fits her head well and not to tight! I was amazed and figured it would snaggle her hair quite a bit. Well, it didn't! Shock and amazement. They did a great job on this one! well done AG! Price is a little iffy. But I like the hat very much. I like that the ties are not together so you can tighten one string or both to make an off to the side fastening if desired.

IT'S A HAT!
I was going to leave the review at that, but then the nice mod lady of this section would kill me. I'm not much a hat person, and mostly got this because it was free Claire's from Texas and my friend and I were joking about her needing to live the stereotype (note: my friend who started the joke is from Texas). It's cute enough, I guess. I must be the only person who seemed to have some of the weave falling apart. I got it from someone who got it for free from the company, so I guess I got what I paid for. I also don't like that the wooden bead is glued on, because mine appears to be set too high so it's hard to put the hat on any of my dolls, not just Claire. B-

Price aside, I'd give the hat an A for quality. I wasn't too keen on the pink accents, but it ended up working out well. I've taken this hat out and about on Inky, when we went to a Neko Case concert. It didn't snag her hair at all.
Goo, I'm not sure if the bead is actually glued on. I wonder if yours was a misfit? My bead slides up and down fairly easily, but not so much that it doesn't serve its purpose.
The hat is seriously overpriced. Sadly, collecting AG has given me enough sticker shock that I've kind of accepted the high prices. Ugh. I would pay 8 dollars for the hat, the same as the shoes, but no more. I got it with the Nicki Starter collection, but I hated the ranch outfit so much that I returned it. When I returned it, they gave me the full price on it, even though it had been reduced price when I bought it b/c of the starter deal. So, I effectively got the hat for free.
