Lindsey doll « Thread Started on Jun 30, 2006, 1:33am »
I adore my Lindsey, not only because of the way I got her and not having to pay as much, but because she is just so CUTE! I love her short, curly auburn hair, which many people say is brown, but it really is auburn. Then there are her freckles, side part, and beautiful blue eyes. Put her in something blue, and your heart just MELTS.
My girl has a bit a grey cast to her vinyl and dry (but still rather curly) hair, but I love her despite any "flaws" she may have. I still don't regret ordering her that fateful day in 2002.

I love my Lindsey, too. She has such a sweet face with her clear blue eyes and cute little freckles. I have to admit that I wish AG would have given her a better skintone and hair that doesn't get dry and coarse over time. I'm grateful that I know how to restore doll hair but if I were a child I would be heartbroken to see my "keepsake" dolly with ruined hair.
Did Lindsey have two box styles? Mine came in a solid, GOT box (there is a sticker on the bottom of the box lid that says Lindsey). I saw one on eBay in a box with a cut out so you can see the face through the box and it says Lindsey on box front. Was mine boxed incorrectly?

It has been pretty typical that dolls bought at AGP have had the windows and dolls purchased over the web or catalog have been a closed box version.

I adore my Lindsey! When she was first introduced, I think I was a bit annoyed about the whole LE thing because I knew that would be just one more thing to collect. I did almost get her because she was an LE, but I decided on getting Kit instead. I love my Kit but I am kicking myself for not getting Lindsey when she was available. I told myself I would never get her due to cost, but I just couldn't stop thinking about her. I got a pretty decent price for her, but I was told she was in hardly played with condition. I wasn't too surprised when she arrived and she wasn't in hardly played with condition as was claimed and her hair was fried. But, I had prepared myself on getting a new head and sent her in. Once I got her back I fell in love. I am kicking myself though because when I got her back I thought her eye was loose and I sent her in for them to replace the head free of charge. I totally regret that because there was just something about the first head they gave her. Either way I'm so glad that I have this doll. I just wish that they wouldn't have had problems with the skintone the year they introduced her. Both her and my Kit are quite pale. Either way, this is a adorable doll. If you have the money and you like her, I say go for it!

I think that the Lindsey heads from the hospital have a different skintone than the first Lindsey's. This is not the best picture of my twins but it does show the difference between the girls. The one on the left is the hospital Lindsey. I've also heard that the hospital limbs don't have the greenish cast to them that Lindsey is known for. Sidney, on the right, also has a thinner face than her twin.

I like Lindsey but I would give her an A- because her hair is so short that you can barely do anything with it. But I LOVE her boots- they also double as great riding boots because I lost mine to the equestrian outfit..err...her tights are so cute I wish I had a pair for myself! I can see myself wearing that outfit.

I finally got my own Lindsey and I love her. She has curly hair that is really fun to put bows in, and her face coloring is wonderful. I would recomend her to anyone.

I adore my Lindsey doll as well. I love the short hair and big blue eyes, as well as those freckles. I have got to say that this is my most favorite doll. However, when mine went to the hospital, they gave her a new body and her body tag no longer says Gril, it now says Girl. They told me that they ran out of the old body with the name spelled wrong. Will it matter later when and if I want to sell her?

I have to agree. Lindsey's really original but typical. Not beautiful but cute. Sort of seven year old cute. I like my dolls to look around eleven to thirteen. Lindsey sort of looks like a little sister to the other dolls. I think its something about the short hair. It has an affect with Nellie too. She often along with Kit seems to look younger.

I love lindsay to death! Shes darling! She may not be the prettiest thing but shes real. Real people are not perfect, this isn't a fantacy world we live in- its the real thing. I love how American Girl shows that through this doll. I agree she isn't the prettiest doll made (in my opinion). But shes cute. Shes reality at that age children are still trying to figure out who they are. Perfect example.
Hair: B (I don't really like the cut, kinda hard to maintain because being so curly.) Meet Outfit: A (I really like this outfit because even though it was made in 2001- its still in style) Face: A (love the freckles) Haircolor: A+ (its something totally new that AG has never had as a featured doll. Not like the basic colors brown......... blonde... its more of a really dark red) Overall: A

I just recently bought Lindsey after telling myself I wasn't going to bother with her for about 3 years. She looks like a mini me as a fifth grader, hair, eyes, freckles and all. I had that same short dark brown curly coarse hair. I have no idea how old this one is but her skin doesn't have the grayish tone that has been discussed above. She has near perfect hair and rosy cheeks as if she were practically new. She does look fantastic in anything blue. She has been renamed Gena and she's ready for the holidays in the retired Ice Blue outfit. She's adorable in person. I don't care for her original clothing and accessories which is ok because she came to me without them.

I Just got my Lindsey a few days ago and I love her to death! My favorite thing about Lindsey is her face and hair even know it gets messy at times but I still love her.My other thing I like about her is her book I think hers is a bit different from a American Girl book.
Hair:B(It's kind of hard to maintain and take care of because her curls) Face:A(I Love her eyes and freckles) Clothes:A-(I Really like the clothes it's just that in her book she wears a striped shirt more than the one she comes with) Hair Color:A+(I love the color that's why I think Lindsey stands out)
I love My Lindsey Doll SOOOOOOOOOOO Much. I wouldn't give her away for a million dollars!!!!! I just wish that her hair stayed curly and that it didnt get dry and frizzy. Also her skintone is all weird! But I LOVE Lindsey, she is one of my fave dolls! A+ for Lindsey
I just received my Lindsey in the mail yesterday. I won her in an EBAY auction from the original owner. I immediately hugged her once I removed her from the wrapping. She is just too adorable - love her freckles, big blue eyes, and short, curly hair. I felt like a kid again upon seeing her! She just has a sweetness and innocence to her face and seems very "classic" to me. I'm thrilled with her!
I loved Lindsey when I first saw her in the catalogue, but I didn't think I'd ever get her. I'm so glad that I finally did! Mine is pre-loved, but she was in excellent condition - her hair is a different texture from my other dolls, but it seems quite natural to me. Like everyone else, I adore her blue eyes, and her freckles are very cute. Although Lindsey is a contemporary character, there is something about her that says "the fifties" to me. Her hair style reminds me of the flip that several of my girlfriends wore when we were in high school (graduated 1959, so that gives you an idea!). Although I don't want to set her back in that time, I do feel like giving her a circle skirt (my school didn't "do" poodles), and a sweater set!
My dolls: Felicity, Kaya, Josefina, Kirsten, Molly, Emily, Lindsey, Mia, Baby Polly; mini Felicity; GoML Isabel and Neela "Grandma" to brunette Bitty Girl Twin and blond Bitty Boy Twin

I think Lindsey is so adorable. When I was on a trip to AGPLA, I saw her in the GOTY display...I knew I had to have her.
Her hair is so different and age appropriate, I think. Her eyes are so clear and bright. My used gal does have a bit of green/gray tint, which I understand is common. But, luckily her hair is surprisingly, not dry.
