 Performance Trunk and Jazz Outfit
« Thread Started on Nov 14, 2007, 9:14pm »

I got Marisol's Performance Trunk secondhand, so it isn't complete, but I will review here what I have. :)

Here's the description from AG Playthings. I crossed out the pieces that are missing from this review.

Marisol’s Performance Trunk

Marisol really knows how to jazz things up! This trunk with a removable tray holds everything she needs to take her show on the road, including:
• Shimmery jazz top
• Jazz pants
• Jazz shoes
• Pink feather boa
• Purple feather boa
• Stick-on earrings
• 10 hair elastics
• 4 ponytail holders
• Ballet certificate
• Tap certificate
• Ballet poster
• Stickers to decorate the trunk

$48 GYAA discontinued 2005

Here is a picture of the trunk and the accessories that I have.

The Jazz Outfit is cute and well-made, and I love the colors and materials -- but what 10-year-old gets to dance on stage in a tight, skimpy, midriff top? Not my daughter, no way! So for the Jazz Outfit...

The trunk itself is sturdy, and seems like it could stand up pretty well to traveling and play. Inside the trunk is lined with black velvety flocking, and it has a cute little mirror on the underside of the lid. It is pretty roomy, and Marisol could probably fit all of the outfits from her collection in it if I had to guess. (I don't have all of her outfits, however, so I could not try this out) The bottom of the trunk is divided into four sections (I tried to arrange the accessories inside so you could see where the divisions are), and there is a removable tray that sits on top. Personally, I would prefer if it didn't have the dividers on the bottom, because it limits the way you can use the space. The stickers and stick-on earrings are a cute touch.

This is a great set! :) The jazz costume is too cute, especially as I used to take jazz myself when I was younger. The jazz shoes are perfect replicas of the real thing, and I love the pretty purplish color of the costume itself. The feather boas are great with anything really, just be sure to keep them out of harm's way (and by this, I mean kitty cats who love feathers!). The ballet poster makes a cute addition to a doll's room...the mini certificates are a cute touch...ditto with the earrings...the clear hairbands/elastics/bobby pins really help in securing Marisol's ballet bun. And the trunk...I love how you can accent it with stickers, and I LOVE how everything in Marisol's collection (save the top hat and stage, obviously) fits in it and more...I've got a few extra dance costumes stored in there, too.

I love this trunk! I think that all of the little boas and extras are a great addition! The jazz costume is super cute, the boa adds a nice touch to it. I put my trunk at the end of Marisols bed, (The AGOT Flower Trundle Bed) and it looks nice there. I give this trunk an A, its great for play and storage.
