Mia's Purple Ice Skates $14

Honestly it's a bit much for just a pair of skates but there really cute. They are however pretty hard to get on, there is a velcro strap at the top and the laces are elastic.
I give them a C

Are the white skates in her accessories easier to get on?

The white ones are easier to get on, but to help get the Purple Ice Skates on you can take the elastic out of the hooks on the top of the skate.

The Purple Ice Skates are very easy to put on and take off if you open them up correctly by unlacing them first. Just pull the silver elastic band off of the top two eye-hooks and open the velcro. Her foot slips right in. Cross the silver elastic bands and hook them back on the eye-hooks and re-velcro the strap. TA-da!

The purple skate's blades are very fragile, I had opened my box up and noticed that one of the blades had popped in the ankle area

Can she stand up while wearing the skates (without leaning on anything)?

Definitely worth the $14 considering her other skates are $28 and all you get for that extra $14 is a mattel-esc plastic ipod that looks cheap and a skate bag.

My dd ordered this with her birthday money and they are wonderful. We had a pair of the ac moore skates to go with her performance outfit and the ag skates are 300x better. The real metal blades, the blade covers, the cute colors, everything - make them well worth it. And they come in a shoe box like the other shoes, which is also a plus. Definitely worth the $$.
A+++

ETA: The colors are more vibrant than the flash really shows... they are not as sugary colored.

I was a little disappointed with these. They are really nice quality compared to other brands, and Mia was getting sick of her performance skates, but still, I'm not sure they're worth the $14. I suppose if you want her whole collection or don't want to wait until the current backorder date for the white skates, you should get them, but I don't like them that much.

The colors are a little sickening. I think it would have been really cool if AG had made white figure skates for Mia and a pair of regular, black hockey skates. Why purple?! It's just as bad as the JLY 2-in-1 skate outfit skates. (As a figure skater, the inaccuracy offends me, and as a female, the gender stereotype that girls would only wear hockey skates if they were sparkly offends me even more.) Someone posted above that the colors aren't "sugary" except in pictures, but I think that's the exact word I'd use to describe the colors.

Some of the reviews made it sound really simple to pull the little elastic band off the top two hooks, and it was, but it was a severe pain to get them back on! I spent a good five minutes trying to wrestle the "laces" back into the hook. The other problem I have with them is that the guards always slip off the skate blade. (Explanation for this is, one-piece guards like that have to have a plastic ring to keep them on skates, or they just fall off.)

The two pluses are that the skates look really good as hockey skates, even if they're the wrong color. And I really love the shoebox packaging for them!

Overall? I'd give them a B. I bought them because I'm a figure skater and had to have all skating-related pieces of Mia's collection, and because I wanted a pair of skates for some of my other dolls. But if I could only have one pair, I'd absolutely go with the white ones.

I love the purple skates! They're really easy to get on/off because of the elastic, which I love. I don't own Mia's other skates, but I own the GOT skates (with the purple sparkly dress from about 1996), which tie up the front like Kirsten's boots. The only downside to Mia's purple skates is that, unlike the GOT skates I have, the skate guards do NOT have little elastics to help keep them on. I finally just gave up and put the skate guards in another place so I wouldn't lose them, because they will NOT stay on the blades.

Overall grade: A- (minus for the stupid skate guard problem)

Well, you also get accessories for the music player. And considering the music player actually plays music, I would say it's worth the $28.

As for these skates, I would say it's worth the $14, because they were LE, which adds some worth, and they come with guards, and they aren't just shoes. They're skates, which would be harder to make, so they would have to charge a bit extra. All in all, they're a great addition to your collection.
