Mia's Performance Outfit $28
Comes with (from the site): ~A turquoise skate dress with a draped neckline and a sparkly fabric skirt ~Three silk flowers with sequin centers grace the left shoulder ~A bodice with embroidered flowers and sequins that sparkle in the spotlight ~A hair band with three silk flowers ~Skin-tone tights
I think this outfit is one of the most cutest things ever! It does seem very delicate because of all the little sequins on it. It's a really nice colour, it's like something a real skater would and could wear. It has velcro on the back so you don't have to try to slide it on like the ballet leotards they make so it's much easier to get on. It comes with tights which is great!! They are skin toned tights very nice. The hair band is really cute flowers seem like they could come off pretty easy though. Overall i'd give it an A super cute and shiny

I just got the performance outfit. I believe that the material and velcro do not go together. With the type of material the skating dress is made of it is extremely easy to snag with the velcro. American Girl should know by now that this type of material snags easily and that they should put snaps on it and not velcro. Other outfits that easily snag from velcro include the 1st soccer top, blue ice skirt and others that I can't name at the moment.
So handle this outfit very carefully and make sure the material doesn't get stuck in the velcro. I will probably change the velcro to snaps so this outfit will not get ruined with snags.

I just received this outfit, and the quality is great. I agree with the above posters who mentioned that this will probably snag very easily. I love it that AG finally included some skin-tone tights to keep dolly legs from freezing.
I'm going to give this outfit a B for two reasons:
1 - I think it won't have much longevity due to the delicacy of the fabric
2 - I think $28 is a bit steep for what you get. Considering it's only an outfit and a pair of tights, I would price it between $22 and $24.

I couldn't have said it better. It is a stunning outfit (our Mia is sporting it right now). I think the color is much more attractive with Mia's coloring than the pink meet sweater. The embroidery and sequins are impressive and the bodice fabric is awesome. I too worry about the snagging... and think the price would be more appropriate if it were to come down a few dollars. But it is completely adorable and if you like it - I would recommend getting it. It would be hard to be disappointed with it once you decide to spend the money on it!! lol btw - my dd likes to use Mia's pink meet tights with the outfit - kinda cute since it does have a little bit of pink trimmings.

I recently had a friend pick this outfit up for me at AGPC. I was steadfastly against adding to my Mia's collection for months for various reasons. Mostly it was the price, the color and the style.
However, the figure skater in me broke down- so it's now part of our collection.
What I like:
-the tights- they were a must have with any skating leotard set. So happy to see them included. They are authentically thick and warm feeling.
-the embroidery and the sequins- pictures do not capture how they dazzle and catch the light.
-the hair scrunchie- I was so glad to see it was not a useless clip or pin.
What I do not like:
-the flower trio on the bodice. A case of over embellishment- and not something one would commonly find on skaters' leotards.
-the flap of material that cascades over her left shoulder- in real life I can just see it winding around her neck or flipping up in her face while spinning and jumping. Not really practical if you want to be technical.
-the velcro back closure- as others have stated- the spandex material will snag horribly with the velcro- it should have been a fashioned with either snaps at the crotch or been pull on style.
In other words I give the set a solid C. I had my hopes up so high for something stunning- and for me it really missed the mark.

C+
If you're only going to get one of Mia's dresses, get the silver one. This one isn't that great a value for your money. The material is very shiny and pretty, but almost flimsy. The Velcro (which is placed very poorly) will snag it very quickly. I do like the embroidery, but the fake flowers are overdone. I do love the tights, because they're so realistic, and the skirt and neck draping on the dress is pretty. The hair scrunchie is cute but not as useful as the headband that comes with the other dress.

The velcro is very easy to snag the dress on so be careful. i rate this item a C+ for this cause. The dress has actually snagged more than the tights. The hairband is pretty with the adorable flower accents. I use this item as more of a dress without the tights. I have included a picture of it on a doll. I would only recommend this product for display, adults. or collectors so it does not become destroyed.
