Mia's Bedroom Furniture $125
The bed has (from the site): ~A three-sided furniture unit with blue metal trim ~A closet with drawers and hooks for storing her skating gear ~A bed mattress that pulls out for sleeping, or folds up to create a comfy lounge chair ~A desk with coordinating blue plastic chair ~A white pillow with ribbon trim for her bed
If you're wondering about the cost for the bed it's really worth it this is the most cute bed I think I asked my mom who asked my grandpa what the bed is made out of and he said it feels and looks like wood the blue parts are plastic and it's really well made. The bed is Heavy!! It can be pulled out into a bed and she fits good laying down on it. The bed part has the main base and 2 little parts that you can pull out to make it a bed and you can push them in for a chair which is really cool. The chair is made out of plastic. The pillow and mattress is made out of polyurethane foam (the stuffing part) the mattress can be folded and part of it is held together with velcro so you can use it as a cushin and it wont flop open. The only bad part is the shelves and the drawers are kind of small so you have to fold things a bit. *Edit I got all her outfits to fit the bottom drawer is bigger then the top one i'll post pictures of how her things fit later*
Overall the bed is great and it's a really well made bed I think it's well worth the money A

Thank you for the review and all of the great pics.
Please clarify one thing - in your original description you describe the blue edge trim as being metal but then later you say plastic. What material is the trim made of? Did you have to snap the trim on yourself with those little buttons? If you snapped it on yourself, what does the main unit look like without the blue trim?
Thanks for the info!
The official AG description lists the trim as metal. Sophia says that it is plastic. Most likely, it is a lightweight metal painted with enough coats to feel plastic.

Alrighty - I took the plunge. Well, we had a credit so I used it for Mia's furniture. I fell in love with this set when Mia's first catalogue came out and pretty much, what you see is what you get. There are no surprises - the first poster put in some great photos and I won't even try to add onto them. The blue parts are metal and everything is well made - including the chair. I am very pleased with it - particularly since ag furniture is sooooo expensive. This is the first piece of furniture we have purchased from ag for that very reason. But this is a great value and in some ways very versatile. While I am not complaining, if I were king for a day, these are the few things I would have changed: Painted the metal trim white or left it silver ~ I understand the furniture was meant for Mia but either of those colors would have worked and both would have been more versatile. Even black would have been ok, IMO Took out the third side and added an additional piece to replace missing section. Or maybe this would've defeated the purpose. But This is simply high-maintenance to display. Unless it is the only doll furniture you intend to ever own (which would be understandable) you have to dedicate floor space or a large table to it to really enjoy all three sides. As it is we have a very small house and it currently resides on my night-stand. (though my glasses fit perfectly on top of the closet - lol) So it does not work well in a pre-constructed doll house. One section will simply go unused. I will probably keep the storage space to the wall and just pull it out a bit to reach things. I would have preferred something that could back up to a wall so that I didn't feel like I was only ever using 2/3 of the item. But that is a personal preference - and the only reason I got this item in spite of that, is because I know in a couple of years we will move and therefore have more space. And I do NOT want to pay ebay prices for an item this large - ugh. Having said all that - I absolutely love it. The little window cut-out shelf thing is my favorite part - the magnetic closet door shuts perfectly. I love the shelves and mirror and the bed part is very well made. There is nothing generic about this item - it is quite nice and IMO, the best furniture deal ag currently has. If the set appeals to you, you will be pleased with it. I liked it before I bought it, and I like it in person - definitely an "A" Thank you ag for making something I could finally "afford." LOL

I got mine because of the free shipping. It arrived fairly quickly but the lower hook was broken when I pulled it out of the box. DH said it can be glued together with some Gorilla glue - the wood was split- and glued on for good measure. I love this piece of furniture and didn't want to haggle with sending it back to AG.
The blue is not as bright as the catalog pics make it seem so it was a decent match for the flower bedding I have been saving up for just such an occasion. It's brighter than the material but Cadence doesn't seem to mind- at least it's blue. The pillow cases and sheets go well with it. If I can find a different, non flowered blanket I am going to swap them out.
I will post pics once I get this completely set up. The storage is excellent and the desk space works great for the JLY computer and a few of Cadence's other favorite things.
I give this an A too. I was hoping for the old trundle bed sets and matching furniture, but I am very glad I gave this item a shot.

Because our AG Boutique & Bistro has this under an acrylic dome, I could never touch this, try the doors & drawers, open & close the bed, etc. We were there again yesterday to make a final decision, and I asked an employee if we could lift the acrylic dome so I could check it out personally, but she said the dome is extremely heavy and it couldn't be done. So, I bit the bullet and bought one without ever being able to check it out personally. A long two-hour drive home before I could open the box and . . .
Much to my relief and delight, this Bedroom Furniture is
OUTSTANDING!
It is heavier, sturdier, smoother, prettier, more functional, more durable, more detailed, and basically better in every aspect than I expected. I got the impression that the bed was flimsy plastic, but it's strong wood like the rest of it. I was worried that the trim would be flimsy, but it's quite substantial metal and doesn't look like it can be easily pried off. I love the little nooks and crannies -- AG put a lot of thought into designing this and it shows.
This piece would be best enjoyed if you have space around it, or if you could put it on a turntable/Lazy Susan type base, so that all sides could be easily accessed. Fortunately, we have space for it, and I can easily see my daughter playing with two or more friends with this and having plenty of fun for everyone, as there is something to play with from every angle.
In a perfect world I would have wished for another set of drawers. The space between the closet and drawers is apparently empty, as it is blocked off under the desk. That is, it's not being used for leg room at the desk, so why couldn't they have put in more drawers on the storage side?
Another nit-pick is about the mirror inside the closet door. This was a thoughtful detail for them to add, but the top of the mirror is just under 12" high, or doll armpit height. This means that the doll has to sit on the chair or ground to use the mirror. That, or she can stand up with a great view of her bellybutton.
Lastly, I wish the bookcase was a bit deeper, as some of the doll-size books I have stick out over the edge. But those things are hardly worth mentioning in the scheme of things.
The truth is, I can't recommend this furniture highly enough. It gets an A+ in my book any day. Considering that AG was very much in the mode of bed + end table + armoire/chest for so long, this is a refreshing and totally unique departure from that. They have a great design that they executed well with quality materials. I can see this holding up well for years of play.
For $125, this piece is surprisingly low-priced in the AG universe. Check the total prices for other doll's bed, bedding, nightstand and storage:
Addy $227 (no nightstand) Felicity $283 (no nightstand) Josefina $229 (no nightstand) Julie $331 Kirsten $271 Kit $268 Molly $255 Samantha $281
You can see that $125 for Mia's Bedroom Furniture is a great deal, as far as AG furniture goes.
If you're still on the fence about buying this, I urge you to go ahead and get it before it's gone. You will not be disappointed in the quality and details. After it's gone at the end of 2008 (or earlier, if they sell out sooner), I can see these going for high dollar on eBay. Don't wait until you have to pay secondary market prices. If you're thinking of this as a Christmas/Hanukkah gift, seriously consider buying it waaayyyy before holiday time, so you won't be disappointed if they sell out early.
Because the box is large and heavy, it would be great if you could get a free shipping code!

First off props goto HannahMontant06 & Designerdiana. HannahMontana06, you did an amazing job with the photos!! Designerdiana, you really put some work into getting those totals of all the girls furniture. I really agree with Dessignerdiana, she made a great point that if you added up beds, nightstands, bookshelves, closets, & desks of dolls it would be way way way more then that!
I personally own it and give it A+ as well. I like it because its all in one, compacted, & no waisted space. Its heavy, but really easy to move. All you do is push the bed in, & carefully move it across the room. I have done that about 4 times since I got it!
Pros: Portability, Compact, Color (goes with everthing), If you need extra space in the doll room you can close up the bed, Extra storage, FINALLY a spot for my computer, Built in book shelf, and much much more!
Cons: Chair is made out of plastic, which is a small bummer.
Bed- A (I love this bed so much! But I really think they could make the Accessories have more bedding included. Like sheets, really, I don't sleep on the cushion/matress everynight. I have something under me.)
Desk A++ (This is perfect for the kinda stuff I like to play. School.... Homework.... Boarding School.... Sleepovers....)
Bookshelf A+ (Its really nice cause you can fit alot of really fun things in there. The only complaint I have though is the fact that I couldn't fit my new AG book in there!)
Cabiet A+(I was really hoping that this would have a spot in there where I could accually hang up some outfits. But I guess not... still its pretty cool!)
Chair B+ (Plastic. Thats the only SMALL turn down on this item.)
I really enjoy this product & hope you all are able to get it!

I just got this piece today. I bought mine from a board member for 175$ including shipping, but on ebay most of the ones I've watched have gone for 200$, not including shipping.
Would it be worth 200$+ shipping? You get a bed, a desk, and a storage system. Looking at the designerdiana's calculations, you get a deal--plus factor in that you don't get a nightstand, you get a DESK, which is even more expensive.
I think that this makes a great bedroom for a modern girl. I love that it looks kind of like something you'd find at IKEA, which was perfect for my character. Another cool thing about it is that you can decorate the way you would if you had a dedicated bedroom space for your doll, without actually having to put posters on your wall or attach a shelf to your wall. It works great for small spaces, because you can quickly move the whole setup to a more convenient spot, and it keeps all the doll action confined to a very small space. I was pleasantly surprised to see how much the drawers held, and although I would have liked a rack to hang clothes, the shelves in the closet also hold more than I thought they would. At the moment, all of my doll's stuff that she is not wearing is in this thing--granted, my collection is quite small. The ledges and shelves provide ample space for toys/book/etc. that your doll might have.
Notice a doll. This is a piece that will really only work for a single doll's room. If you have a lot of dolls and you want them all to have beds and such, you may be better off purchasing, say, a bunk bed, a table and chairs, and a trunk. For a small collection though, this is fabulous and worth even the secondary market prices. As someone said above, though, I don't really understand why they didn't utilize the space next to the drawers to add two more. And again, I wish there was more space to hang stuff. Overall though, this is the absolute best solution for storage and display of my personal collection, and I would give it an A+. Whether it work as well for someone else depends on what they have and what they want from their doll furniture.
