She's adorable! I named mine McKenzie Clarie. Her hair is so cool. It appears darker and lighter in photos depending on the amount of light in the room. It's light brown. Her bright blue eyes are so gorgeous, and I love her freckles! Her hair is "designed" to be flat. It seems rather thin in the back, to me. I like this picture of her better!

I hosted Brooke's Traveling Cambria in December 2005, and she was a real cutie. She's definitely similar to my AGT 7, but I like her better because she's bangless and has freckles. And her hair is shorter with that cute flip to it. Oh, and those blonde highlights! She's definitely my childhood mini-me with blue eyes instead of hazel. Now if only AG would make a new doll like #23 but with #21's eyes! Grade: A+

I love my #23, Joanie. She was my first American Girl, and when I opened her box I was speechless! Her hair has beautiful highlights and is a great length. The ends flip very easily with a little brushing. Her freckles are beautiful. She's a darling! You can find some pictures of her from my albums. They're a bit blurry, but it's the only digital camera I have to work with. A+. I'm so glad I brought this girl home! (Imagestation album links removed)

My #23 is Mieke! I got her for my birthday last year at AGPC. I love her freckles. Her hair is long enough to style, but short enough to make her look unique. I like the placement of her part. Here she is:

This is a very pretty doll. Her hair is a nice length for styling, and I really like the combination of hair and eye color. Yeah, it's brown and blue, but the highlights in the hair just look really good.
The curl is kinda weird, though. It's like this enormous flip, right at the ends of her hair, reminiscent of the 60s - only minus the beehive. It looks super cute when done in pigtails, but I've had a heckuva time styling it so that there isn't an enormous flip. When I put it up in a ponytail, all the hair curled under, and from the side it looked the same as if I were looking through one of those curling waves that surfers ride through.
All in all, very cute and pretty, but not something I'm very good at working with. Most of my attempts have come out pretty extreme looking, so I gave her a bun, and the curl is a plus for doing that.
I should probably note that I have stick-straight hair and always have, so I'm not used to working with waves or curls or anything.
Grade: B for us hair-impaired folk.

I love my #23! I got her for Christmas 2006 and I named her Ali. Hair: I love her hair! It looks good in so many different styles and really works with any doll's personality. Her hair sometimes appears different colours in different lightings because of her highlights. Although her hair is very cute, sometimes, it is hard to get it to cooperate when styling it. I also never curls just one way when it is down. My #23's hair is quite thick. Eyes: I love #23's bright blue eyes and I love the blue eyes/ brown hair combination however, I feel that #23 would have been cuter had AG given her brown eyes. (I don't mean to offend anyone, this is just my opinion.) Face: I love her freckles! They are very realistic (this coming from a freckle face herself) and I think they look adorable on her! I also like #23's face mold however I am not too crazy about how her nose turns so far up wards. Overall: Overall, this is a very cute doll and I highly recommend her to anyone thinking about getting her! She has beautiful hair and an adorable face! Here are some pictures of her: I chose this first picture to show how her hair can appear different colours. Ali on the first day I got her (sorry for the bad lighting). This is my absolute favourite picture of Ali. I have shared it before however, I thought I would put it in my review as a good enabling picture!

I just hosted Traveling Nora. She's a pretty girl with light blue eyes and freckles. She has an off center part in her hair which makes styling rather difficult. It took a lot of work to braid her hair and it doesn't really pull back easily. It's shiny and swingy and resembles the popular styles of the 40s and 50s. She also makes a cute Edwardian girl. Her hair color is pretty much the same as my white bodied Molly's hair. She's very skinny as is typical of the Mattel dolls. Her limbs are hard as rocks and much smaller than my PM girls. She's a pretty girl for a Mattel doll but I will rate her a B+ because her hair is hard to style and I don't care for Mattel dolls much.

I ordered #23 online in June 2006. Her wig is somewhat thin, as is common, and is somewhat course. Regardless, her hair can be styled in many different ways and has held up to a little girl's play. Her name is Mackenzie and she stays at my house for my second niece.

This is my #23. I got her a month ago from Ebay. I'm not done customizing her yet. img.photobucket.com/albums/v317/LAwxrgal/Dollies/jly23.jpgThe doll is pretty enough, but I find her hair a little thin and difficult to manage. I may end up replacing the wig, even though I like the length. It's more realistic. Here are more pics of Haley Hotchkiss, who is probably my favorite of all the dolls I have: Mod edit to remove oversized, embedded image

My doll is called Katia... I cut her hair into a bob, and I have been perfectly happy with her until now. She is a really pretty doll; I think she would make a good Laura Ingalls, if that is your thing.

My #23 has been made into Laura Ingalls. (ETA I had this planned long before the comment above!) She's a beautiful doll, though in the pictures her hair looked longer than it actually is when you try to put it into braids. Still, she's a gorgeous doll. Here are some pictures of my "Laura":

This is a very adorable doll. My friend has her, (I haven't taken any pics of her yet, but they will for sure come) and she named her Colette. Her hair flips out, and is really cute! It's a lighter brown than my #13's hair. And her eyes almost look gray-ish blue. That might just be the light, or my imagination. lol. She looks good in any outfit you put on her, from any era, but I think she makes an especially cute colonial girl. A+ from me!

My #23 may be my favorite doll. I ordered her this past fall when I saw her at Borders and fell totally in love with her. I named her Kylie Nicole and I ABSOLUTELY am in love with her. Her freckles, eyes and hair are gorgeous. So many hairstyles look adorable on her. She's also my doll with a blog about life as an eighth grader.

I got my JLY 23, Charlotte, for Christmas in 2009. She's very cute! I chose her because she's very versatile and can look good in a large number of historical eras. I really like her highlights. There are only a couple cons about her. They are both about her hair. One, it isn't as thick and long as it looks in the stock photos. Second, it has layers, and it's very difficult to braid her hair. I guess this shouldn't be a con, because it's just a preference thing. Otherwise, there's nothing bad I have to say about her. One thing I really like about her is that I consider her a "classic" JLY doll, because she's been around for awhile (2004), and she's hasn't changed much, if at all. Also, she seems very popular, and like I said before, she's very versatile. I give her an A+! Attachments:

I Am ABsoultley IN LOVE with this doll! She is very beautiful! But right after taking her out of the box i found a small problem. when i took out her ponytails, in the Back Of her head she had this HUGE knot, but after brushing for a while It was gone and she was fine. Her hair does not fall out really easily and she is very good for starters, and her hair does not require much effort. And she deserves an easy A+. ( the knot thing was Just my problem)

23 (Traveling Nora) as an historical girl. She looks best in Molly's clothes and could pass for a friend of Samantha's. She does not look good in Molly's PM glasses.

Here is the photo I took of them immediately after purchasing Saige. The hair and eye color are not the same, and the different hair length and straight vs. ruffled eyebrows make them different enough be be unique IMO. They are both wonderful!
