Medium skin, curly dark brown hair, brown eyes
$87 GT26G

I fell in love with AGoT 26 the second I saw her. She even managed to move ahead of AGoT 21 on my short list. As soon as I could, I ordered her.

I was so excited about her, but I was also quite nervous about her hair. What would it be like? Stiff? Crunchy? Would I mess it up right out of the box? Would she be fun to play with? Could her hair handle being styled in simple styles? Could her hair be brushed or picked? What if her curls got messed up?

As soon as she arrived, I knew it would not matter even if she was bald- she is one of the prettiest dolls that AG offers.

She has the prettiest, smoothest, creamy, honey brown complexion. Her skin tone is just stunning. She does not look like any of the other dolls I have. I think her face mold looks just perfect in that skintone.

Her happy little eyes are a beautiful shade of light golden brown. They look so real. Out of all of the dolls we have, She probably has the prettiest eyes .I love her pretty brushed eyebrows too.

Her hair came pulled up in a hairnet. I was so nervous about removing the hairnet. I almost decided to put the lid back on her box and keep her as "collectable doll" instead of a new girl to play with. I couldn't do it, she was just too pretty to leave all boxed up.

I unfastened her from the box, and carefully removed her hairnet. A cascade of beautiful, glossy, bouncy brown curls fell down to frame her face. WOW.

Her hair has an unbelievable amount of shine to it. While it is not the same silky texture as the straight haired dolls, her hair is still very soft and touchable. It does not feel stiff or crunchy at all.
Right away , I noticed a curl in front that had divided down the center. I was never able to get that back into a single smooth curl again, but I was able to gently separate the single curl into two seperate curls, and with a little water to smooth the curl down, you could not tell it was not supposed to be that way.

Her hair seems to take light handling quite well. I say "light handling" simply because I have never handled her any other way. I suppose, as with any doll, if you really tried, you could ruin her hair. For the most part, I think just being reasonably cautious with her hair will be fine. I guess the main thing to watch out for with AGOT 26 would be velcro that could snag the curls.

I have not used a brush or pick on her hair because I have never had any reason to. It is easy to rearrange her pretty curls with your fingers without using anything else. It is easy to put her hair in a loose ponytail or dog ears, and she never seems any worse for the wear. Her hair seems to spring right back into place.

She has a nice off center part that helps keep her hair tidy too. When her hair needs a little refreshing, I just spritz it with water and scrunch it up a bit with my hands.

I think she would be a fine doll for any adult collector OR any doll loving kid, as long as the child had been given a few pointers about taking care of her curly hair.

I think AGoT 26 should be on everyone's wish list.

I had to have her!!! The day she was realeased, I had not even seen a picture of her. I just heard that she was medium tone and had wavy hair. I called AGPC, and ordered her right away. Waiting the two days it took for her to get here was torture, but oh so worth it. She is IMO gorgeous!!

DH got me this doll. He looked at the dolls on my wishlist and she called to him! When I opened the box, she announced that her name was Phoebe. Took me a while to figure out her middle name. She is now Phoebe Fatima Jacqueline (pronounced "Zak-leen" ) and is so lovely!

She is ever so much taller than our PM dolls, and even taller than Elizabeth and Jess. Not a big deal, just a difference that I noticed.

ETA update: Phoebe has been here for a year and I have to say that she is really my favorite of the JLY dolls that I have. Her hair has held up and I've had fun developing her very spirited personality. She developed a retracting eyelash a few months after I got her, which necessitated a trip to the AG Hospital, all expenses paid, for an eye replacement. She's been fine since. It wasn't her fault that she had a bum eye, so that won't affect my grade of her...which is a resounding A.

However....I am not sure how well this doll holds up to little girl play, given her springy curls. They're pretty durable, but if a child doesn't know to finger curl and spritz...I could imagine they'd get ratty pretty quickly. I really would NOT recommend this toll for a young child, and only for a very careful older one who cares for her dolls meticulously.

More ETA update: Two years later and Phoebe needs a hair spa day. You can see how flyaway her hair can get over the course of normal play:

I got out my handy bottle of synthetic hair conditioner (aka braid spray) and soaked and brushed and retwisted each curl. It took a little to do but the results are worth it, and I don't have to do it often. Not perfect, but no one's hair is perfect. Normal maintenance is water spritz and finger re-twirl. Never brush, never pick.

I love my #26. I got her from my fiancée the day we got engaged. Her name is Iris, because Irises are my favorite flower... and I got a dozen Irises the day after our engagement as well!

To be honest, I got a 26 for Christmas last year from my mother. However, I didn't end up keeping her, because I traded her for another doll a few weeks later at AGP. I hadn't thought long enough about her character and just wasn't ready for her.

Now that I have her again, I am thrilled! I'm so glad I waited, because I love this doll so much more than the first 26.

Another question. Does #26 come with a hairtie? I'm not sure how it works since her hair comes in a hairnet.

She does come with a hairtie. Mine did, but wasn't wearing it. It was in a little plastic pouch in her box.

Marina arrived yesterday! She is so pretty! Her hair seems a little thin but I've heard that is common in #26-I'm wondering if the way the curls are has something to do with it? Anyway, she's got great coloring and her eye color is different than the regular brown and goes well with her. I sort of wish her curls were a tad longer but they are super cute and I can't wait to find styles for her hair. She did lose a few hair strands, which I find common in new dolls. I'm so glad I bought her! Along with #24, #26 is one of of the prettiest AGTs; she's definitely and A++++++++ from me!

What can I say about #26? A lot!

Meet Latoya "Lati" Flynn.

Hair: Beautiful, bouncy, and curly. I know AG says to buy a pick with it to use, but I didn't. It looks best when finger combed, just a bit more natural. I'm afraid that if I put the pick near her hair the curls will straighten. I love how it is not tectured because this means she could be biracial.
Face: I love the use of Addy's face mold. She would look very different if she had any other face mold.
Skin: I admire the use of this tone with Addy's facemold, again suggesting that she could be biracial, but not neccisarily.

She's looking over at me at this very moment. She wants me to give her an...

A++++++++++++++AND THE PLUSES JUST KEEP ON GOING...

I also wanted to add that she looks good in every single outfit you put her in.

Sorry I couldn't post pictures. Everytime I try, it doesn't work. Sigh.

Something I noticed about this doll that has not yet been mentioned. Her hair is cut asymmetrically. It's noticeably longer in the front than in the back. I almost sent my doll back until someone told me it's supposed to be this way. Other than the weird haircut, this doll is the most beautiful doll I've ever seen. I won't grade her less than an A+. It's not her fault no one told me about her hair- lol.

I just recieved this doll and I have to say, she's so much prettier in person and member pictures versus AG catalog/website pictures!

I was a bit nervous about her hair, since I don't know how to deal with curly hair. The ends of her hair seemed a little dry when I got her out of her box, but some spray wig conditioner (many refer to it as braid spray) and a little bit of rearranging and twisting by hand fixed it. I love her hair so much. I will be careful with it though, because I'm nervous about messing it up.

I'm not sure how her hair would hold up to play, because the only way my dolls get played with is by changing their clothes and styling their hair. That's how I've always played with dolls; though I am an adult now and much more careful than I was as a child.

This doll has such a beautiful overall coloration. She does like she could be biracial, and she actually looks quite a lot like two different people I know. One is a friend from childhood and she is half African-American and half Filipina; the other is the daughter of a family friend, and she is half African-American and half German.

I really like this doll's eye color. My doll is going to be subject to an eye swap in the future, however. I have a custom planned that involves amber eyes, and I think Rachael (my 26) would be quite content with brown eyes.

I've also noticed that this doll is very photogenic. :) She seems to photograph much better than my Molly and #25.

This doll has a unique eye color originally referred to as "amber" by AG, although they now call it plain old brown. Wrxgal's close-ups above and ashleyvp's photo below in this thread show the true eye color. Also, this photo of my Phoebe captures it well:

She's by far my favorite of the JLY dolls, but her hair does get a bit mess with young children. DD got her when she was four and a little more than a year later it's still curly but messy. I have to work on it periodically when DD can't see.

I'm not really pleased with my #26. I had her out of the box for only around an hour and her hair was already dry, frizzy, and fly away. A little water helped, but her hair was still horrible. Her hair seems really short and a very light brown compared to pictures on here and on AG.com

She has nice coloring though. Her eyes are really really pretty, they are just gorgeous! I really want to do an eye swap with another doll, since I don't really like my 26.

I give her a
B-

Her hair takes her down A LOT! Her eyes and coloring keep her hovering around a B-. Without those eyes and her beautiful complection, she is easily a C or D+ in my opinion. I really just hate her hair. It was so pretty and curly, but now it is really dry on the ends, and just after a few changings and stylings, her hair has definately become uncurled some.

I am not attched to her at all and could easily get rid of her. She is pretty, but I'm not as thrilled with her as everyone else is from the reviews.

#26 is stunning! I picked her out in person at AGPC. She's went through a lot of names changes, but I finally named her Jasmine. She is just beautiful! I love her curly hair, complection, and amber eyes. Everything about her is perfect! Her hair is hard to take care of, at least for me, and it makes her more of a "sit and look pretty" kind of gal. I still love to her pieces though. She looks wonderful in pink.
