I had this doll in my care for a couple of days. She was a Mattel. What a pretty doll! The hair color is more brown with red than pure red, but it is very lovely color! And the hair tone goes so well with the skin is offset very much by brown color of her eyes!

Truly a beautiful doll. 5 was my very first Today Girl and she's extremely pretty. She came off of ebay with her meet outfit--the old red vinyl jumper outfit, and yes she is pm.

Her hair is amazing and usually photographs beautifully. It is definitely auburn, in the right lighting the red shines through vividly. Her brown eyes really help make the red shades stand out.

I just got my AGT #5, Ruby, today. She's a Mattel doll, straight from AG. Her hair does look brown, but a warmer brown than the light brown. She's beautiful!

I give this doll an "A". American Girl refers to JLY 5's hair as "red", and I can see it as auburn too, it's not a super bright red. I love the color combo of the red hair with dark eyes. My son has this coloring and it's unique and striking (both on him, and the doll). I think she's much prettier in person than on the AG website.

My doll was purchased at this year's MCM sale, and she has an incredible wig, it is nice and thick and quite style-able.

I am not generally a fan of banged dolls but I love #5's for bringing her eye and hair color close together, and I also prefer how it gives her a more youthful look. I'd definitely reccomend this doll to someone looking for a JLY with unique coloring.

My Kolby Skylar just arrived and I love her! Overall grade : A++++++++++++++!!!!

The first thing I loved about this doll is her HAIR. It's wonderful! So silky with a slight curl at the end that flips inward or outward. Her bangs are cute and can be clipped back. Her hair doesn't tangle very much at all.

Her colouring is awesome as well. I would call her hair auburn as well. In the sun, it looks pretty red though.

Need more photos of JLY 5 here. Maeve is a Mattel version. I absolutely adore her coloring and her lovely thick hair. It can pull either brunette or auburn depending upon lighting. A
