I don't think there's elastic in my beret, but I have no problems getting it to stay on:
It just takes a little while.
Also, my locket did NOT come with the picture of Dr. McIntire. WTF? Not cool. (I bought one with a picture off a board member, and it was an older one with a different clasp that I don't like as much.)
