2-in-1 Kayaking Outfit
I borrowed this from my sister to use for an album. Overall, I really love the colors used in this outfit. They are so vibrant and look good on any doll! This set comes with A LOT so I think it would be worth the money.
Rashguard - I love the colors but seriously, they could've chosen a better material, or used a zipper instead of velcro. No matter how careful I am, it has snagged every time I've taken it on and off a doll. As a result, the back is really pilled, as I'm sure my sister has had problems with it too. I do like the design though.Grade: B-
Shorts - These look like real board shorts or athletic shorts. They have a nice wide waistband that velcros, which makes them easy to get on and could potentially adjust a bit for different doll waist sizes. The only problem I have is the color; I think it should've been a darker pink to go with the tankini and rashguard. The light pink just looks out of place. Grade: B+
Bikini - Again, I love the bright colors. I also like the pink trim. Of course, with any bikini, the doll's tag shows, but overall I think this looks cute on the dolls. Grade: A-
Shoes - I was so excited about these as I think only Kailey's wetsuit/swimsuit set includes doll water shoes! Unfortunately, the doll can't wear them in the kayak (which fits because you wouldn't wear shoes in one anyway). They are great for walking around the beach though or wading in the water. Again, I wish these had the brighter colors as the bikini/rashguard; the light ones seem out of place. Grade: A just because I am so enticed with the idea of watershoes!
Sunscreen - I love that they included sunscreen! AG is so concerned about your doll's health
Seriously though, I think it was a good accessory to include that could've been easily overlooked. It's kind-of weird that it's on a necklace but if you are going kayaking, it's not like there's any place to store your sunscreen, so it's convenient at least! The necklace is made of a thick plastic material that would probably withstand water damage and likes to bend/twist weirdly. It closes with a plastic clippy thing. Grade: B
Sunglasses - couldn't find so not reviewing.
Overall Grade: B+
Kayak[/b]
Kayak - This is really fun! It was a little confusing at first because only the sides and top inflate and I was watching the bottom. Once it is inflated, the doll fits perfectly in there (without shoes - as you would in a real kayak). The colors are bright just like the kayaking outfit. I thought the netting provided a nice detail. It also doesn't seem like it would be destroyed easily, as my brother tried to ram into it with my dolls' paddleboat multiple times. Grade: A
Paddle - I like the rainstick aspect - it just seemed to add a bit of fun/whimsy to the set. I was surprised that you can actually get both of the doll's hands to hold onto it pretty easily. Grade: A
Lifejacket - AG did a good job with how you put it on - it "buckles" (velcros) around the middle like a real lifejacket. You also velcro one of the top straps. This one kept coming off for me though. I wish the lifejacket had also been inflatable or puffy so it would've looked more like a real lifejacket though. Grade: C+
Bag - Holds the kayak... I thought it was a good thing to include, but don't really have any other use for it, so I'm not really including it in the review.
Overall Grade: B+
