I bought this thing in a fit of Rebecca completionism insanity. I also wanted the costume.
The trunk looks cute. That's all the positive I have to say about it. It doesn't hold much of Rebecca's actual collection. It is made of pleather and cardboard and paper and has metal hinges and a metal clasp on the front. When I opened mine for the first time, the lid creaked on the hinges and not in a good way. To be honest, the cheap, crappy trunks they have at Hobby Lobby are better in quality, and are made of wood. Trunk thing also has a removeable tray.
There are also paper things that are supposed to look like magazine covers. They're not reproductions of any actual magazine covers, from what I can tell. *Yawns* Moving on now. They are paper and dull and not that nice either.
The costume is ten shades of awesome.
The pieces:
-dress
-overlay
-cape
-necklace
-shoes
-headband
-wings
-gloves
The costume bits are cute and well made. I had Rebecca wear her fairy costume to the very modern Utah Renaissance Fair. I also love to have Rebecca wear the shoes from this set with her Movie Dress. It looks so much cuter that way. The other thing I like about the costume? Its pretty darned accurate for a fairy costume from Rebecca's time period. If you look at fashion history, you'll see it around.
Since others have dissected the costume pieces, I won't here, but I do have some pictures of the costume, and the costume trunk thing of fail, and the paper bits of fail.
Grade: C, and the costume takes all the cake.
My trunk, BTW, is at this moment buried somewhere under my bed. Hopefully spiders don't dig pleather.
