*This outfit was worn by Kirsten in the short story “Kirsten's Promise”*.This dress has it all! It's historically accurate, as we can see from the Wisconsin Historical Society museum page, it is well-made, detailed and cute. The fabric is heavy homespun of a green and purple plaid on a cream background. It's cuter in person than in catalog. It is a different style than any of her other dresses with a V bodice. The CUTEST part of the dress is the hem, which is made from a pretty calico fabric where Mama let out the grow stripe. The shawl is thick and quilted and it is a perfect dress to keep Kirsten warm. The woven purple hair ribbons are a nice addition too. Complaint: The velcro doesn't come far enough down the back to make for easy dressing for my white-bodied Kirsten. Grade: A
