*This outfit was worn by Molly in the book Changes for Molly as well as the movie Molly: An American Girl on the Home Front*(The name of this outfit changed to Tap Outfit in 2008)(taps on shoes are now plastic - late 2009)(price increase from $28 to $32 January, 2012) Original Pleasant Company versionI won this outfit for $11.50 + shipping on ebay. It is tagged Pleasant Company 2008. I really like this outfit and I think it is so cute! The fabric is shiny and satiny like a dance costume should be. The little star on front is made from heavy paper/posterboard and sticks out from the dress part. The sleeves are very tight, which I understand is a characteristic of this dress. I had to tug to get the sleeves right to get the dress velcroed in back. It comes with little panties to wear underneath made from the same material as the dress and they meet Taffy's expectations having elastic in the legs. The crown is made from heavy paper/posterboard type material and is shiny and sparkly. It is very flimsy and creases easily. The fabric in the dress seems to snag easily as well but it's a dance dress and likely Molly won't wear it often. Grade: B+ for not coming with shoes and being tough to get on and flimsy material in the crown.
