I picked up the lavender ones just for the hair pins. The ponytail holders are made for thin hair. I couldn't get them to go around twice in Susanna's hair but the soft ones work well for sleeping and the elastic bands will do for thin braids and ponytails. The pink ribbon is actually a stretchy headband. It looks super cute on and fits PM heads too.

This is the old beach set that I just picked up off ebay. My sunglasses are a different color, but I'm not sure if they are the ones that came with the set originally or not. and Jess wanted to model (the bathing suit came in the ebay lot too) I saw some complaints about the fit on this suit, but Jess likes it, and it looks fantastic with the sandals from the beach set.

I picked this set up off ebay with a lot, but it does not seem to have ever been used - the bottle is still in its original plastic bag. I agree with filleamerican's review, but thought I would add a picture. (and yes, it should have toothpaste!)

I just picked this set up off ebay for my DD, who loves crafts and painting. The accessories are adorable, but I am not sure the easel is sturdy enough for play, even though it is plastic! Jess agreed to try it out, and it was very frustrating to get the easel set with the legs at the right height - they kept collapsing down. It is cute, and Jess could hold the palette and balance the brush. My set came with pencils in black, white, yellow and green. Jess painting, to show the scale!

Here is my 47, I named her Sonani (not creative, sorry). This is a very beautiful doll. She looks better in person than she looks in pictures though.

my Caroline's travel dress review: I think this dress is really cute! it only comes with two things though. the dress is really pretty but not the matierial i expected. and the grossgrain belt on the dress pills easily. the boots are adorable!!! you dont have to lace them up! but they are hard to get on, and they don't go on the doll's feet. they stick out a little. B+

I give this outfit a C. My doll came with this outfit and I'm pretty sure I would never own it otherwise. The tunic is unlike anything I've seen before..I have no idea what AG was attempting to recreate here..The print on the tunic are stickers that can be picked off if you're patient enough to do so. The pants are this weird purple colour that makes it hard to match it with other tops (would it kill AG to create clothing pieces that mix and match?!)They are also very hard to get on an off due to a no velco opening. Like it has been mentioned, they are stitched in and cannot be rolled down. The flats are periwinkle and look good with other outfits. I don't think they match with this outfit exactly. Everything is a weird shade of purple and clashes horrible with my #37's colouring. Definitely not an outfit my dolls would wear and definitely not something I see any young girl wear.

I have ot regretted a single penny I spent on the parlor. I love this piece so much that I was buying it, room or no room. The window seat is just large enough for my Caroline to fit sideways and look out the window. The amount of storage is wonderful - all her books, shoes, skates and smaller accessories now have a home. I take down a few items and the parlor becomes a retro modern parlor. A+

My daughter picked up Garnet this weekend. I'd give it a B-.
Pros- our Garnet has a sweet expression, we love the plush body, and the rope
Cons- does NOT stand on own without ample help especially on carpet (moving the legs 'just so'). If this is 'display only' animal I would give it an A. But in my house all of our AG things get ample play time. My daughter has to basically prop the calf next to something. I expected a soft-ish exterior with a harder center (or wire legs) more like Sobrita. I am disapointed in the functionality of the piece.

My Abby's eyes don't look quite as green as some. But she is such a lovely doll. Its so frustrating that AG already retired her. Her wig is not too short like most "Short" haired dolls. Her hair has enough length that it has a lot of playability. Unlike most "short" haired dolls. She is my 3rd with bangs. And the first with the new bangs vs pie bangs. My 48 is Abby Scuito from NCIS. I am not the only one here who has a Abby doll. My Abby has a Bert the farting hippo I bought from the NCIS store. I love my Abby. She is getting her ears pierced tomorrow morning at the DC store. I made her some outfits to fit her Abby Scuito personality. The little plaid pleated skirt is so Abby. Abby comparison pic

I don't know if it is because we have one of the chubbier 2000 Kit dolls, but the length of this dress was not an issue at all. This is one of my favorite dresses from Kit's collection, and gets an A from me.

Hi everyone, I got really lucky and scored WB Sam on eBay for $90. She is in perfect condition and just breathtakingly beautiful. I can't figure out how to post pictures. We already have a PM Sam that we love, but this one is definitely a keeper.
I have a question to all White Body Samantha's owners. Are her eyelashes durable? They are so beautiful, long and curled and I am terrified that anything can happen to them. So I am hesitating to play with poor Sam just because of that.:)

Veline was my first AG doll. I got her in back in summer of 2011 because she looked the most like me. AG dolls aren't very common here in Sweden and I've gotten A LOT of compliments on her, and people saying we're like twins. Her arms and legs are a bit loose but I guess that might be since I've had her for a while. Though she has been stored for almost a year until now, since I did lose my interest in AGs for a while. Still I do remember her arms not being able to stay up even when I got her. That's probably not the same for all #24 though. Her hair is a bit messy nowadays. The ends are in need of some kind of treatment (at least it doesn't look like the "doll hospital dolls'" in the AG catalogue! XD). I'm not sure what to do to it and since I've lost my hair brush I don't dare to brush her hair with any other brush. Though it does look WAY better than my Kanani doll's hair ... Just remember to spray her hair with water before you brush it (like I didn't) and I think it will stay as beautiful as it looks when she's new, for much longer! Her eyes are pretty. Still I'm not the biggest fan, but I guess that might be cause I wanted her to look like me and I'm green eyed ... I've never met a blond person with brown eyes but I'm sure they exist. It's a nice change from the normal blond, blue-eyed dolls, though. I like her freckles and I think they look pretty realistic! It was kind of unexpected to see what a big difference there is between her and other #24 dolls' face paint! I feel lucky I got a doll with these kind of freckles, since I wasn't able to choose her myself (I ordered her from AG, since we don't have any stores here in Sweden. Which is kind of understandable since it is in fact called American girl. Though it's still sad, and shipping costs a lot ...)! I do love her a lot, though she is getting customized soon! Not sure who's wig she'll get, but her's is already booked. (This sounds wrong to me for some reason ... XD) I do wish she had feathered eyebrows, in my opinion all dolls should at least come with that option since I think it looks way more realistic and usually cuter too. Though that is just a personal preference. Overall I'd give her a 4 out of 5

Little Lady Dress for DollsItem# F2363 Her Bitty Baby doll is at her sweetest in this sparkle-knit outfit! It features:
- A sparkle-knit dress with a charming scalloped hem, crocheted details, and a pink ribbon and bow at the waist
Matching knit beret with a big, beautiful satin rosette
- Pink ballet-flat shoes
- Includes the Bitty Bear's Pretty Picture book for girls
I purchased this for my daughter's Bitty, but decided to usurp it for my new doll, Midoria. It looks GREAT on the 18 inch doll, however, some may consider it too short. BUT it reminds me of the dresses I wore as a girl in the 70s with the empire waist and short length. I really like the dress and think it's cute, BUT if the dress did not have the shimmer thread through it that it would actually be a very likable dress. I think the sparkly effect ruins its sweetness for me and cheapens it. I like the hat, but it seems oddly ill-fitting (on both the Bitty and the 18 inch doll). Its like they made the hat bigger to accommodate the flower. It may just be too bulky for the hat. Overall, I give it a B+ for the cheap shimmery thread in the dress and the slightly oversized flower. Here's a picture of Midoria in the dress.

We just got Chrissa off of eBay a month or so ago. She is now my favorite (or one of AG doll. My only issue with her is thin wig. Love her hairstyle and hair color, so would rather not rewig her. Out of Mattel dolls that we have only Marie-Grace, Emily and Marisol seem to have nice thick wigs. She looks great in blue!

I am so glad they decided to make Caroline's work dress! She wears it a lot in her books and it suits the doll's coloration very well. It is just darling! Even though the outfit is one piece, it is executed to look like two pieces and it does a good job of that. If you just look around the sleeves, for instance, the white sleeves aren't just attached to the patterned bodice, there is additional fabric to make it look like she is really wearing an undershirt. I don't mind that it's one piece even though realistically it should be two, because I really probably wouldn't be mixing and matching these two pieces with anything else anyway. The fabric and detailing is very beautiful. I love the fabric pattern's design and it looks historically accurate and I like the incorporation of the pink inset, the lace, and the kind of gold/earth tone ribbon. The pink and green dress portion does seem a little dressy for work, but I'm wondering if it might be made to look like Caroline had outgrown the dress and couldn't wear it on nice occasions? The extra pink fabric at the base seems to look like it was added to let the dress down to a proper length, which may explain the otherwise slightly fancy dress being used for work. That's my headcanon, anyway. The cap is also very cute and looks really sweet on, I actually like the additional ribbon ties because they differentiate the caps from some in Lissie's collection (this is also historically accurate). It doesn't smush her hair. As far as the boots go, they are kind of awkwardly shaped in the front - like they don't indent enough toward her ankle, if that makes sense. They are the same cut as her winter boots but were easier to get on, and they were shown in the book vignettes, which is another plus from me. She reminds me of one of those old-fashioned china shepherdesses when she is wearing this gown and I think it is the sweetest thing. A+ for matching her coloration and for being featured in the books! ETA: I finally got around to trying this on over the undergarments I made for my Caroline. The dress fits fine over pantalettes, a shift, and a petticoat all at once, so I wouldn't say AG skimped on fabric. Just fwiw.

This is the meet outfit for years 2010 to 2012. Here's the breakdown: Top: A nice basic but I wish it was solid white instead of lavender. It looks too much like a pajama shirt to me. My dolls have never worn this since it came off the doll. Nice to layer over though. Pants: Very nice! Love the pink detailing at the sides of the cuffs, wish you could roll it down but it is very cute and accurate to what girls 8-10 are wearing. Would have been nice if they'd put some topsitching at the pockets and crotch but thats asking for too much! Undies: Plain lavender undies. Nuff said. Shoes: Easily my favorite part of the outfit. These flats go with everything! Worth getting this outfit on the secondhand market just for the stinkin adorable shoes. Love the bow on each side! Only problem is, when trying to get it onto my PM dolls foot, the pleather (?) crushes and you have to pull it back up and slip the dolls heel in. Very nice!!! Necklace: Cute, not much special. I put some human charms and beeds on it and it looks very cute. Couldn't figure out how to adjust it so I just knotted it. Of course, it CAN adjust, just I haven't figured it out My rating is a c+ but its a cute outfit and totally worth getting for the pants and shoes

I like this shirt alot. Its a nice basic shirt that goes nicely with everything. I wish they'd put a different, more verstile graphic on the shirt; this one seems too much like the design on the True Spirit meet outfit. I like this with jeans on my dolls and it makes a nice shirt to layer over. Great piece that retired too early!

I think it's interesting that while AG often shows this on a blonde doll, we've all put this on our brunette dolls. I love it on MG and Molly. The dress is very sweet, and the lining is excellent! It makes the dress lie so nicely. While I'm not a huge fan of the sparkle and the flower, my target-aged daughter loves them. And, in all honesty, they don't bother me nearly as much as I thought they would. I haven't snipped the flower off yet, and that's saying a lot. I wish the dress were a bit longer. And, I think the shoes are the wrong season for this dress. If it's cool enough to wear this sweater dress, then it's cool enough for thin tights and corresponding footwear. We had a same-shoe problem, too! I'll be calling customer service to see if they'll send us a new pair. (And, um...based on the other photos we also had a user malfunction in how the straps ought to be.)

This doll is very pretty! As others have said, she has a unique shade of auburn hair that is different from other dolls described by AG as having auburn hair (such as #5, #8, and #17). Here are some pics of my #34, Zoey, so you can get a better look at her: Here she is next to my Sam:

Since there was some interest in comparing Picasso and Jackson, I decided to post here as well. Picasso's left legs seem a bit closer to one another. I also very much like how stretchy his coat is. It makes it very easy to move his neck up and down, as well as his 2 leg joints. I was nervous that he would be unstable, but that is not the case. I really like that his bridle is removable, but it does make me wonder why the GOTY dogs don't have removable collars....Anyway, I am so happy that I got him, and I also give this guy an A+ ETA: spelling/grammar issues

I bought Saige earlier this week while on vacation at the Mall of America. I had to look through a lot of dolls to find one that didn't have wonky eyes. The dolls' left eyes were noticably (to me) higher than the their right eyes. I have noticed this a lot with the classic mold, I had a #23 with this issue who I ended up giving away. I'm glad I had the chance to choose my Saige in person. I was mostly looking for one with level eyes and this was the only one in the section of the store I was searching that looked nice to me. I didn't want to scour the entire store and this one grabbed me. I think she was the first one that popped out at me and she kept coming out on top. I think some of the others might have had level or nearly level eyes, but the head tilt can exaggerate a slightly high eye into one that looks terrible. Her wig is fantastic, she's going to give Marie-Grace a run for her money as having the best wig in the house. She has a nice even layer of short hairs, her curls are smooth and soft. She doesn't have the fried curls that my Sonali had. I got lucky with her wig, I don't take the hair net off before purchasing so I only felt her scalp through it make sure she didn't have any lumps like my #23 had. Ever since I gave away my #23 I had been missing her and Saige is like a way better version of the doll I wanted #23 to be. I love her eye color too. Like another reviewer posted she is what I wanted in Caroline, I'd like to get her some of Caroline's outfits.
