My husband bought the new BeForever Addy for me for my birthday & took me to an AG store so I could pick her out. Everyone was so worried that the new Addy would have lighter skin color but she doesn't, it looks the same. I think she has rosier cheeks though. Her hair has the same nice texture as before & is put up in a lovely crossed braids hairstyle with little blue ribbons. She has such a sweet face. All of the dolls at the store had the new hairstyle & the feathered eyebrows as well. Her royal blue meet dress is beautiful on her & I love her little cloth boots. Her new pantaloons are a bit longer & slimmer than her old ones & lack the front waistband that the old ones had. Her stockings are white & shorter than her old black ones. I liked the old stockings better, the length seemed more accurate. Altogether I like the new BF Addy much better than the old one & I had the old one too so I can compare them. A 9.5+ out of 10 because of the pantaloons & short stockings.

I just got a new Beforever Addy yesterday. I love the new feathered eyebrows and fancy hairstyle. It's nice that the ribbons in her hair are real and not on an elastic band.
Her dress is beautiful and I thought the width was pretty generous, since I could put a chemise and petticoat under it and it still wasn't tight. One thing that bothers me is the sash/belt around the waist. It moves and shows the seam on the dress. It would have been nice if it was sewn on and didn't move, only because I dislike seeing both the seam and belt at the same time.
The trim on her pantalettes is pretty. It's a different trim than Marie-Grace's.
I'm not as big on her socks and boots. I would have preferred black socks instead of white, and I don't really like her new boots. They don't seem as realistic as her previous meet boots. Something just seems off about them to me. I'm not sure if they changed her skin tone at all, but I was surprised that it looked a lot different than the skin tone of my #1, which might not be as obvious in the picture. Addy's skin is darker and warmer, and #1's is lighter and has more of a gray undertone.

Here are some comparison pics of my new BeForever Addy and my PM Addy who got a Mattel head replacement in 2011. BF Addy's skin tone is much richer and redder than Classic Addy's, whose skin looks slightly grayish-brown and lighter in comparison. BF Addy's eye openings seem a bit more narrow, and mine has a downcast glancing look to her face vs. Mattel Addy's wide eyes. I love them both, and think they are different enough to justify having them both. They definitely look like they have completely different personalities.

I absolutely adore my Beforever Addy. I love her feathered eyebrows, long hair, and dark skin tone. She's a very special doll.

Addy is definitely one of my favorite Beforever dolls! I actually think that I like her better than the Mattel version. I got mine last Christmas, and I love her so much! At first, I didn't really connect with her, but after awhile she has become one of my favorites! I was a bit hesitant because of her hair, but really, it's not hard to take care of at all! I'm not a fan of the texture. I think AG could have done of better job. I think it feels plastic and fake. It frizzes easily, and is super puffy, but easy to style and looks nice when styled. I was scared to take out her meet hairstyle because it was so adorable, but opted to do so thinking I could put it back in the same way. I was wrong. I cannot get it back to the original look! I am glad I took it out though because I love styling her hair and she looks great in so many different hairstyles! My favorite is two french braids. Awhile ago I also braided half her hair into tiny braids, and I loved it! You can do so much with her hair like that, and it looks great! I wouldn't recommend leaving her hair down though, because it could become a mess. I got a pick to style her hair at first as AG suggested, but found it easier to just use a brush like I would for any other doll. That hasn't caused me many problems and I'm glad. So really, her hair isn't very hard to take care of if you leave it up all the time and brush thoroughly when styling. She also has a really cute face. I like it better than the Mattel version. Her eyes just look super full of emotion, and they are a bright, shining brown. I love them. Mine has a head problem as well, but it doesn't bother me much. Her head just happened to get really loose all the of sudden and I have to constantly retie her neck strings after awhile of play. Her earrings are super cute and look great on her! I do wish they were removable though, because it's very hard to style her hair, because it keeps getting stuck in the hoop earrings! Sometimes I'll style her hair and then turn her to the front only to realize a piece of hair got stuck in her earring and I have to redo the style all over :I They are adorable otherwise! I love her outfit. The blue looks great on her and the dress is great quality! I do miss her old pink outfit though and I do think this dress is a little fancy for a girl who just escaped slavery. Her undergarments are really nice! I feel like they are a slight different matierial and better quality than Marie-Grace and Cécile's. Same with her socks. I like them better. Her boots are also amazing and go with many different outfits. I love the matierial and they feel so nice and expensive. Again, not for a girl who just got out of slavery. More like something Harriet would wear. *mod edit to delete dead image links*

I went to the American Girl store in Columbus in the fall and absolutely fell in love with BeForever Addy. My boyfriend ended up getting her and several of her outfits for me for Christmas. I'm in love!
I can't wait to have more pictures to share of her. She's so beautiful and photogenic.
