This item was introduced in 2014 and retired in 2019. Most pieces (except tart) were previously included in Rebeccas's Sabbath Set and included in the later rereleased Sabbath Set and Parlor Table. Some of the pieces were slightly modified in earlier or later releases.
Rebecca's Teatime Traditions
Item #BKF99
$68.00
Rebecca loves her family’s cherished traditions, from teatime to Friday night’s special Sabbath dinner. This special set includes:
•Mouth-watering pretend challah bread with a white service cloth
•A yummy make-believe custard tart with fruit
•An elegant ceramic serving plate
•Two drinking glasses with molded designs
•A lovely teapot with a removable lid
•A pretend canister of Ceylon tea
•A pair of precious blue candlesticks from Rebecca’s neighbor Mr. Rossi, with two pretend Sabbath candles
*I'm going to preface this by saying that I am not Jewish, so I am reviewing this set purely from a doll collector's point of view.*
Challah Bread & Cloth: A
I like the style & detail of the bread. The cloth is fairly basic but nice that it's included.
Tart: A-
Cute piece but seems a tad big to me compared to the bread. There is some nice detail in the fruit though.
Plate: A+
Easily my favorite part of the set. Just beautiful. I've been meaning to call CS to see if I can get a second one as a replacement part. The tart fits well on it.
Glasses: A+
My second favorite part of the set! I love human-sized glassware so I find these wee little glasses just perfect!
Teapot: A
Very pretty, love the design!
Tea: B
A weak spot in the set. It's really just a cardboard box. I wish it was actually a little canister as described.
Candlesticks & Candles: A
Very pretty! Love the blue color! And love that these add some height to the set.
Overall: A
I really wish that I'd been able to get Rebecca's Samovar, but I do love the plate and teapot in this set. I do think that it's a little pricey though, now that it doesn't include the samovar. I don't think the plate and tart quite make up the difference. I received the set as a gift. I think I would have jumped on it myself had it been about $10 cheaper. Should it ever go on sale, I definitely recommend it! It includes some great pieces!
