Sorry I can't post any pics on this board but just had to share how much I love this doll. I originally was not happy that she would have the Sonali mold as I already had Cécile. But Miss Melody Ellison has stolen my heart. She is a beautiful doll - and really looks nothing at all like Cécile. I think the thing I like most about her is her wig. It really makes a difference. I initially thought her wig might be too short. But in actuality, it looks more realistic. It is so soft and very manageable. My doll, like most when I took her out of the box had the flip on only one side. I wet the other side with hot water and rolled it using the sponge rollers from one of the styling sets. It came out just fine. I am also lucky that my Melody does not have thick bangs. I am not much of a bangs person and I wanted to make sure that the Melody I chose had thinner bangs, which would be easier for me to re-style. I also wanted a Melody with a fuller face and was able to find the perfect girl with both of these attributes. My Melody Ellison is a modern girl and so far, she looks great in all of the modern outfits I've tried on her. I give her an A+.

My Melody is a bit different because she has a small gap in her bangs. She's probably not a doll I would have picked out at the store, but now that I've spent some time with her, I wouldn't want her any other way. Absolutely the cutest doll AG's made in a long time! ETA: Here she is with my gorgeous Cécile. They look very different to me! Besides the obvious eye and hair differences, Cécile's skintone looks a bit more golden to me in person. The different eyebrow placements also make them look very different to me. I'm glad I have both. : )

I can't tell you how much I love Melody. Since I took of her wig net I could immediately feel a bond with her. Her hair is so lovely! Her sweet face and rosey cheeks make me smile. Her wig does have a couple of gaps without hair. My personal shopper checked the Melody dolls on display and said they all had similar wigs. I really don't know if they're all like that, but I like mine so much that I don't care. I don't think I'd ever bonded with a doll this way, and that's a lot to say since I've had around 30 AGs throughout these 8 years. Can't recommend her enough. http://instagram.com/p/BL38Urwgrc6 http://instagram.com/p/BL4G75RAYsp

Melody is a lovely doll and does a great job of representing her time period. Her meet dress is one of my favorites.

I love my Melody doll! I got her almost a year ago and would recommend her to anyone. Like others have mentioned, mine only had a defined flip on one side, so I sprayed her hair down, brushed it, and put it all in foam rollers- I was worried that if I only did one side then the other side wouldn't be defined enough. It came out great! Here's some photos of her with her hair restyled. http://instagram.com/p/BUp36aQg6sg http://instagram.com/p/BUzyvijgIAU My Melody's hair is short enough that braiding it is difficult, but I was able to manage it. I wish her hair was slightly longer. As you can see in this photo, her braids are barely visible because they're so tiny. They're definitely not as long as the ones in AG's stock photos for her pajamas. http://instagram.com/p/BYyzWYrg4U0 Regardless, I think she's adorable. If you're planning on buying her, keep an eye out for the different hair and bang lengths, as they do vary. I should also note that Melody has a slimmer body than my 2012 MAG #24 and my Saige doll.

I went to AGDC to get Blaire and Luciana, and instead, I fell completely head over heels in love with Melody and had to get her instead (sorry, Luci!). Melody had been a "someday" doll for me, but after seeing her in person – that day was the day. Here she is right out of the box http://instagram.com/p/CCg7qhtMjjf You can see she has the "box hair" and the choppier bangs. I find her bangs endearing, and I've managed to style her hair so it's more evenly flipped on both sides. Her hair is textured; not as much as PC Addy, but more than say #80. It has a very nice feel to it and styles well (even though it's short!). I much prefer her hair over the slipperier straight hair that AG seems to be favoring lately. http://instagram.com/p/CC1t-TMMj3d http://instagram.com/p/CD9ltlUMwKh My Melody came in an older box (with rubber bands holding her arms and legs, and not the thin ties you have to cut), but she has the good eyes and no perma panties. That said, I have no idea when she was manufactured, even though I bought her in 2020. Here she is with my Sonali and Gabriela, for comparison: http://instagram.com/p/CFSzolHs0A- (she looks adorable in her school dress!) http://instagram.com/p/CFfFBncM9sI
