Let me start by saying that I do not have the TM doll (46?), so cannot speak to Gabby's being the same as that doll. However, I did do some comparisons to Cécile, for those who have her.
Gabriela is a beautiful doll. Her coloring is more blushed that my Cécile's, her cheeks are pinker and her lips are slightly brighter. Her hair is smooth ringlets, very silky to the touch, and softer than Cécile's hair. It is not textured hair. It does not appear to muss easily, as I put her through several outfit changes and didn't need to fix it.
I like her meet outfit a lot. The tank top underneath is a camisole, and no Velcro - it pulls on over her head. The purple shirt has Velcro in the back. The pants are very similar to Lanie's nature outfit pants - soft stretchy knit that looks like denim. The shoes are really cute - more of a mid top than a traditional sneaker. Her underwear is plain white.
The new box is not difficult to open at all - I did so at the mall like I always do before I went home just in case there was any problem with the doll. She is fastened by the neck and legs as before, and her hands are fastened to the sides with a piece of foam between the hand and the box to prevent rub marks.
Overall, a gorgeous doll with a versatile meet outfit. Minor deduction because the headband is so basic. Grade: A-

@clover, do Gabriela and Melody have the same eye color? Based on your photo here. I ask because they eyes look identical to me, but the AGWiki says Gabriela's eyes are 'brown' and Melody's are 'light brown.'
Edit: Also wondering for anyone who has purchased Gabriela with pierced ears... what is the default piercing? i.e. which pair of earrings comes home as "doubles" since they pierce with one set and also include three pairs in the package?

SunKist They look like they sre the same exact shade to me. If anything, Gabby's look a tad lighter but it may be a trick since her skin tone is a shade lighter than Melody's.

Gabriela came home with her musical note earrings. So doubles on those.

I got #46 in March 2015, so I got the free meet outfit offer. The pieces are great for mix and match, and feel substantial. I got the tank, cropped shirt, jeggings, shoes, panties, hairband, and a bag of hair elastics. Definitly worth the $28 it's listed for. I give it a solid A, no plus because the "dream" shirt has the rough velcro that will catch doll hair (especially those lovely curls).

There are lots of great pictures of Gabriela in her meet here already, so here's something different! Gabriela is one of those dolls that is really stunning in person, and stands out from all the other dolls at the AG store. AG really hit a home run with her makeup, and I love how her warm eyes shine in contrast with her matte chocolate-colored vinyl and lustrous brown curls. My Gabby has a zip tie and the new body fabric, which is noticeably thinner and smoother (think high-thread-count sheets), but I haven't had any problems with it so far. I was really impressed with her meet outfit--the fabric on all the pieces is substantial, and the jeggings in particular are much softer and nicer than I was imagining. Overall, I'm very happy with Gabby.

I got my Gabriela as a Mother's Day present from my sons-- the 5 year old helped pick her out, the 1 year old just wants to eat her, so he looks but doesn't touch, LOL-- and she is one of the most gorgeous dolls I've ever seen. I'd admired her in the store, but it took getting her home and being able to examine her more closely for me to really appreciate her beauty. The original doll that I got had uneven eyebrows but perfect coloring, so I exchanged her for one with the same coloring and even eyebrows. I thought it was interesting that out of all the dolls I looked at in the store, only about 4 had the darker, bolder face paint that I wanted. I'm not sure if the others were just repackaged #46's or if something else was going on, but there it is. Both the doll I exchanged and the one I kept had lovely wigs, very thick with nice curls. My Gabby has been renamed Ada and she will be my Addy stand-in so I can't speak to her meet outfit because i took it off of her as soon as I got her home. She has a zip tie and possibly the newer, thinner body fabric, though I'm not sure how I would be able to tell. Her hair is lovely and requires very little maintenance. I've mostly just finger curled it and tried the toothbrush and pencil method for brushing it that I saw online. I may take her to the salon for a hair style at some point if only so i can have someone in person show me how to deal with her hair, LOL. Anyways, here she is modeling Addy's Sunday Best dress. I adore her and cannot stop staring at her. The combination of coloring, hair, and eyes is just too gorgeous. AG really hit it out of the park with this one!

Gabby! I purchased her at the end of January. While she has the honor of having one of my favorite GOTY meet outfits of all time, she's really not my favorite doll in my collection. I think she is missing something that makes her "special" but that could just be her pretty much being a redressed 46. That being said, I am thrilled AG released a DOC Goty and I am even more thrilled to have her in my collection.
I renamed mine Zara and that help me give my Gabby her own character since the poor girl hardly has anything in her collection that isn't a recolor! I do think she looks quite beautiful in red.

I have been surprised by how much variation the 'same' Gabriela dolls can have so thought I'd post about my experience, maybe it will be helpful to someone! Recently I knew we needed Gabby for our collection but we are not super close to a store and there just wasn't going to be a good time to get there so I took the risk and ordered her online. I knew i'd rather pick her out in person, but sometimes that just doesn't work for our schedule! I knew she'd likely have the new fabric and I was correct, so, b/c I expected that it was not a disappointment. What was a slight disappoint was, almost immediately upon opening the box I noticed the Gabby we received had a *slight* chip in her tooth paint (or maybe it just simply wasn't applied correctly), so to me she looked like she had a chipped tooth It was disappointing b/c our daughter had been wanting her for a while (and I had too!), then we finally ordered her, received her and.... there it was. It was really not a big deal, I noticed it right away, but I doubt our young daughter would have, but I knew it would bother me! These dolls aren't just something I buy for toys for our kids, I will keep them forever and they can be played with and enjoyed now by me and my girls so I don't want to accept a doll that will bother me (with that tooth!) every time I look at her! So I called AG and they offered to send another one & i'll send the first one back. Somehow though, the replacement order didn't go through (I noticed when I checked a day or 2 later), but I called to check on that and the lady was very helpful to get the replacement doll actually sent out. She arrived today, and this is our Gabby! I am so excited. It is thoroughly interesting to me all of the subtle differences between 2 Gabby dolls that arrived within 1 week of each other. Like I said before, I expected the new fabric and that I wouldn't be receiving a re packaged 46 (we don't have that doll anyways), but there are some obvious differences! We are keeping the second doll (note in below photo the 2nd doll that we kept is on your left!) b/c she not only had perfect teeth but she also has an overall nicer face IMO. A sweeter expression, eyes that are not as closely set as the first and, I believe, a nicer wig. I thought i'd prefer the darker lips, but our first had darker lips than the second but I still ended up much preferring the second Gabby. The first's face was overall darker however so it wasn't just the lips. In comparing their limbs, they both seemed to be the same color. The first seemed to have a slightly narrower nose than the second too. I like how each doll really does seem to be an individual and #2 is definitely *our Gabby*. I am concerned a bit with what her pretty hair will look like after real girl play, I almost wish I could just leave her on a shelf, but alas, our girls love playing with her and, after all, that is what dolls are for so, if her hair gets messed up, I'll just have to fix it! Here are some pics..... Here is a pic of #2 (on your left) and #1 (on your right). You can see they are both beautiful in their own right, but quite different as described above. (note, the chipped tooth issue cannot be seen in the photos...) Above is a pic of the Gabby we are keeping! Yep, pretty smitten with her!

I bought my Gabriela secondhand, and she needed a bit of TLC. she has some shine marks, and I've had to fiddle with her hair to salvage it (it's a bit dry), but she has lovely dark face paint and a sweet expression: http://instagram.com/p/CA-7C0Dsn9H You can see a shine mark on her forehead that I haven't tried to work on with micro mesh quite yet. http://instagram.com/p/CBMS9u3MwHE She looks great in bright colors and whites. My Gabriela does not have pierced ears. http://instagram.com/p/CBWeuIZsnp4 Here she is next to Sonali, for comparison. Her hair is lighter, and she seems to have a warmer and lighter complexion overall, as well as darker/brighter face paint. http://instagram.com/p/CBn_NHWsJkP Because my Gabriela came with TLC hair that I washed, conditioned, and styled, I haven't been afraid to try new styles with her hair. http://instagram.com/p/CEzly7GsFwR She's a beautiful doll, and I'm glad she's part of my collection http://instagram.com/p/CFPmvRGsFp_
