This item was released in 2017.
This bathroom is as cheery as Julie’s personality—it’s bold, bright, and decked out with details straight from the ’70s!
Premium features:
A bathroom structure featuring a sink on a pink vanity with bright orange trim, and a floral-print shower curtain and hooks. Everything folds up for storage and has a convenient carrying handle.
A toilet that makes a flushing sound when the handle is pushed, plus a funky faux-fur seat cover.
Includes:
’70s accessories: A hamper with daisy graphics, a pretend plant that hangs in a macrame holder, and a wastebasket with a butterfly graphic.
Groovy toiletries: A head wrap and towel wrap for Julie; a hair dryer with two attachments; two rainbow-colored hairbows; three colored pretend soaps in a soap box; pretend toothpaste, a toothbrush, and a toothbrush holder; pretend shampoo, perfume, and powder; a tissue box; and a toilet paper holder and pack of toilet tissue.
So, I finally broke down, took a risk and ordered Julie's Bathroom, and I admit, I like it. That said, the quality of the items is wildly uneven. Overall, it is a detailed, compact item that will be easy for kids to move and store, and I think they will have a great time playing with it. It is overpriced, I bought mine during the Indigo 20% AG furniture sale.
I don't mind the cardboard walls, but the latch to hold it closed is made of very thin plastic. I wish they put extra effort into the latch because the bathroom is made to be portable. The top handle is better but not a thick as I would like it. The shower floor is nice thick study plastic and I am glad AG included it. The colours are fabulous.
The toilet is actually pretty nicely done. The plastic is cheaper than what I expect from AG, but the details like the flush sound and blue toilet water make up for it. I love the toilet seat cover! It is gloriously plush and tacky. The toilet paper is amazing quality. It is nice durable fabric that looks like regular toilet tissue. I also like that they included extra rolls!
The sink is another mixed bag of quality. I love that the faucet turns, and that the drawers can hold a lot of accessories. The hand towel rack is made of strong plastic and it comes with two hand towels. The plastic of the cabinet and drawers is thin and cheap though.
The shower curtain is made of nice thick fabric, and I love the print. The problem is once again the plastic. The quality of the curtain rings is not great. The mirror is ok. I like that it opens and has plenty of space, but same thin plastic as the sink.
You won't be surprised to hear that the quality of the accessories is also mixed. I love the hairdryer and it's attachments (I have the old one as well). The box for the soaps is realistic and well made. I like the hanging plant, the toothpaste and the tissue box. The towels are great quality, better than the ones that came with my bathtub. The toothbrush doesn't have real bristles like the old truly me one, it's not nearly as nice. The shampoo bottle is pink plastic, not awful, not impressive. The hamper looks cute, the plastic isn't too thin, but the lid pops off easily and I don't think the hinges will last. I can't stand the garbage can, you can see the seams from the plastic molds, the colour is just too much, and it is not the level of quality I expect for AG's price point.
Despite the very mixed quality, I do like this piece, it is a fun (and funny) addition to Julie's collection. With just a bit of plastic improvement it would be amazing. A-
