Blaire's Lamb: $25.00 Blaire's Lamb is the quality of most other historical pets (and that's not a compliment). It's cute but really lightweight and has a thin, very cheap-feeling faux fur --- the kind of plush animal you'd pay no more than $6.00 for at WalMart. It looks like a lamb but is sized like a full-grown sheep. It's too tall to work well with the 18" dolls as a lamb. As lambs are not an uncommon plush, especially coming up on Easter time, I would be tempted to look somewhere else, because the price tag of $25.00 for this seems way too high to me. (And why is it $5 more than the pig, which is about as unique and cute an AG pet as you'll ever get?) AG could have gone a little further and tried to make it look like a more different sheep breed, which might have made it worth the money. This looks like every cheap plush you'll see in Easter baskets that don't sell. If this weren't marketed by AG, you literally wouldn't even consider buying it for more than a couple of dollars. FYI -- Several of the stores appear to have glued various items to the mouths of their display lambs, giving the false impression that it has a magnetic mouth for holding Blaire's garden plants.

FWIW I was happily surprised by the lamb. It’s soft and much softer than the pets we have.

I love this lamb. I usually don't buy pets but had to bite for this. Blaire's lamb (who I believe is named Penelope in the books) is so silky and soft, perhaps the softest plush I have. It's sturdy without being too hard to cuddle. And who can resist this face?

I don't always buy the AG animals, but I had to have this lamb. She is adorable and super soft and plush. I love the little flowers that are attached to the grosgrain ribbon around her neck and I think she has a super sweet facial expression.

Here is a comparison photo of Felicity's Posie, Blaire's Penelope and Josefina's Sombrita. The heights of Posie, Penelope & Sombrita are 14 cm, 21 cm and 13.5 cm respectively. Penelope is soft with embroidered eyes while the other two are hard and more realistic. I like Penelope the most. She is so cute and huggable.

Blaire is thrilled when her family adopts Penelope, a baby lamb, from a neighboring farm. This plush lamb has curly white fur, a sweet embroidered face, and a ribbon collar with flowers Blaire made. $25 This endearing lamb was one of the first purchases I made during Blaire’s year. I like the plush body, the silky, curly coat, the cute cloven hooves, and the teal grosgrain ribbon with pink and yellow flowers attached. I noticed later that my Penelope has a bit of a grumpy expression from certain angles, which I think is kind of funny, but I don’t know if it would bug someone else. I still think it’s pretty sweet. Here’s a side view: I also like the overall size of Blaire’s lamb, but in fairness, I’m not around lambs in real life so I don’t know if the proportions are realistic. Here she is next to Gabriela, and next to other animals in Blaire’s collection (the piglet and Silkie chicken): Overall I think Blaire’s lamb is very cute, playable, and can work well with different dolls in a variety of settings and historical periods. There may be cheaper non-AG options, but all things considered, I’d give this lamb a B+ at its retail price.
