I just received my new doll. I named her Ebonita.
She is so much prettier than the photos of her at the American Girls Store online. Her skin color is much darker and a beautiful shade.
She has thick, full hair with the short pieces so that her hair can be styled in ponies. I wouldn't have called her hair textured. She came with a hand tag on how to care for your doll with straight hair.
I give this doll an A+.

#31 came home with me yesterday from AGPLA. I would not call her hair textured in any way, at least compared to Addy's or the other AA JLY dolls. She also seems to be missing some of the short pieces in her wig that Shawna's girl has. I think she's beautiful and am really surprised I waited last month when I first saw her in the new red holiday dress. That's what sold me on her. Her name is Devyn and I don't have anything else to change her into as we aren't home right now, but here are a couple photos.

I love this doll! the new textured hair is the best thing that American girl could have done! I saw this doll in the store and she may be my next investment! I give this doll an A+

I love #31. I've named mine Asha and she's adorable! I would have called her skin tone medium, as it's somewhere between my #18's and my #26's. Her hair is softer than #18's; I would call it mildly textured. Grade: A

This is one of the prettiest new AGs. I really liked the display model at AGBB. Her skin tone is warmer and a little lighter than Addys and her hair is long, straight and black. She looks beautiful in red. I don't collect modern girls, so I am not interested in owning her, but if I did, she'd be high up on the list.

My #31 came from eBay(and AGP member Monimarine). I named her Aidean Lennox Black. Her hair is soft and easy to style. Though a tad shorter than I wanted for braids, she reminds me of a mix of #26 and Kaya for some reason. I love her and she earns an A+++ from me.

I have both #31 (Chanel) and Addy. I think the distinct differences have already been referenced but I'll reiterate that it is the wig and the skin tone. #31 has a MUCH less textured wig with a side part, and the hair is shorter. Addy's skin tone is much cooler, you can see it pretty well in these images:

Here are a couple more photos of #31 and Addy. They're both beautiful and you can't go wrong with either one of them. (No flash) (With flash)

My #31 was an Ebay purchase. This doll has some of the nicest and easiest hair to manage, especially if you aren't great at styling. It stays in place easily, and is a nice length and thickness. Her hair is not difficult at all and is nothing like Addy's if that is a concern to anyone considering this doll. She is the only doll I have where I don't have to worry about flyaways! She has a very innocent and child-like face; sometimes she photographs a bit too wide-eyed though. Overall, she is a very nice doll to have. A+

I want to add my review of #31. She is an absolute gorgeous doll! Her hair is the best part. It is what I would describe as mildly textured. It is thick and shiny and so much fun to play with. She does have the side part. She has a beautiful color vinyl. It is a warm tone. I just love her to pieces. Mine's name is Berkley.

My Caitlyn Elise is a gorgeous doll! I've had her for one year and her hair is easily some of the most (maybe even THE most) maintainable of all my dolls. It only requires brushing every few months and the texturing is very light, so still very easy to style. Caitlyn was the doll that I learned to French braid on: her hair was the most suited for the task. I have noticed that her hair looks great in half-braids as well as almost any other style. Overall, A+! I highly recommend this doll.

As I posted in another thread, I purchased #31 on Friday, Jan 3. This is the first time I've gotten a doll with the same face mold as another doll but I love her. In my stories she is Aden Walker and she is Addy's great great great great grand niece. She will be one of my modern girls living at the International School of the Arts. BTW, I've never been particularly into styling dolls' hair but I love styling Aden's. I water set it with foam rollers and it turned out beautifully. The warmer skintone coupled with the rich brown hair is a beautiful combination on this doll.

This is Kimberly. I got her from the Benefit Sale in 2014. I never pictured getting her, but now she's one of my favorite dark skin dolls. She is very very cute and sweet.
