Scarlet & Snow Outfit
Grade: A
From AmericanGirl.com: American Girls will sparkle in this festive outfit, which includes:
- A taffeta dress with cap sleeves, sequin accents, and mesh panels sprinkled with embroidered snowflakes - Cream-colored tights - Shiny red ankle-strap shoes - A cable-knit cap adorned with silver sequins - The Snow Angel book, about a girl who finds herself in an avalanche of trouble
The dress is cute, although the snow-flakes on it make it pretty much a winter-only dress. Without them, it would be appropriate year round. I love the shoes - they were easy to get on, and much more age-appropriate than the heels AG has had recently. The hat is cute as well -- it's cable-knit, so it has more details than most of AGs hats.
The color is more of an apple red -- it has the cool blue undertones (as opposed to a more orange-y tomato red) which is probably more flattering of a color to most of the dolls.

Would the hat and shoes be usable with any other items? For instance, I'm hoping it matches the red on Nellie's Holiday Dress, or the sweater from Molly's Halloween costume.

Here's Mara! (My #8) I don't think she looks as good in it as Margie (#21, see avatar) does... but her green eyes sure do pop!

I received this outfit last Friday. First of all, I love the colour! A beautiful cherry red. The dress fits perfectly on Jess. I love the cap sleeves and the snowflake detail, as well as pretty ruffled netting at the bottom of the dress. It's very easy to get on and the velcro in the back of the dress is the non-stick type. The tights are nice and thick and fit perfectly. The knitted cap is well made and I like the sequin detail. The shoes are easy to get on. They are made of a softer material than any other AG shoes I have. The dolls can easily stand on them without any support. This outfit gets an A+ from me. I love this dress. It's my favorite holiday dress so far. It is shiny, and a nice shade of red. The sequins on the dress are a nice detail, although the netting on the front seems a little low, but not too much. It also seems delicate, so when you put the dress on, I don't think you should pull it up from above the netting. The stockings look so pretty with the cute red shoes. The shoes are beautiful, with the little silver sequins. The sequins do not look like they will fall off, they are sewed on. The shoes are a little hard to get off, but they don't fall off when they are not supposed to. My doll stands in them well. The hat is the best part in my opinion. It is thick, and adorable, and the sequins tie it together with everything else. This dress looks great on dark haired dolls. Here it is on my doll, Sunny: This dress gets an A++ from me.

The beauty of this dress is that it will look great on just about any doll. This particular cherry red seems to look great on all of the dolls I've tried the dress on it. Bella ended up getting to wear it for the family portrait but it looked great on everyone.

This dress is beautiful. The color is one that will look good on most dolls. The shoes were very easy to get on, and the knit cap is very cute and can be used in other outfits. Very easy to get on and off, though I suggest putting on dress THEN tights to avoid snags.
