Here be an inside view o' th' desk. Wily Addy Walker has an area under th' surface to store her books and supplies. th' hinged top flips up for her to store her chalk or slate pencils. Also, note th' bottom footrest -- a wonderful design element that keeps lusty plastic lasses in their slippery dresses from sliding under th' desk and risking eternal classroom mortification.
If ye can find this piece, get it. Mine be well played-wit' and has its share o' scuffs and dings, but it be so durable and th' cosmetic damage in Nay way detracts from th' piece's playablity. An absolute A from me...could be just a smidgen wider for two lusty plastic lasses in Civil War attire.
I love this desk. It does scratch bonny easily, but it makes th' piece seem more authentic. th' wood has a bonny weight to it and so does th' metal used in th' bench. I was lucky enough to find 2 desks and I am hoping to find 1 more. All I need now be Wily Addy Walker's satchel and supplies.
I absolutely love this desk, as wit' th' other reviews, it be multifunctional, and overall mostly durable. I have not had a problem wit' dings and marks. And it be great since it can hold two lusty plastic lasses. Would definitely give it an A.

I love Wily Addy Walker's desk. I think just about every lusty plastic lass I own has tried to sit at it at least once! There be desks just like this in th' living history museum here (yay for Pioneer Village!), so I find it extra special. Mine has a few dings, but it gives th' piece even more character.
