Mia's Hair Clips & Case Item# F8187 $32
Mia can use everything in this styling kit when she wants to create an elegant hairdo. When it’s time for Mia to perform in the Lucerne Winter Show, her hairstyle will shine with:
* A handy case with a mirror and compartments for storing her special hair accessories * 2 silvery bobby pins embellished with sparkly blue jewels * 6 star-shaped hair clips * 10 blue elastics * 12 copper-colored hair pins to keep Mia’s hairstyle in place while she spins * 20 clear elastic bands * A silver tiara studded with faux rhinestones * A doll hair brush your girl can use to give Mia a special ’do * A luggage tag on a chain that Mia can use on her case * A mini version of the Doll Hair book filled with styling tips and tricks
WOW! This case is so sweet! The case itself is 6 1/2" long by 4" tall by 3" wide when closed. It's made of cardboard, but the thick type, just like suitcases used to be made from.
Case when it's closed
unhook the elastic closure and the case splits in two
one side of the case holds a regular sized AG silver hair brush
pull on the satin ribbon to open the (plastic) mirrored side
Mia and her things. The tiara (on her head) is adorable

I really like this set and all the neat hair goodies inside. We will be having lots of fun with this!
I ordered Mia's Hair Clips & Case and the first one I got had a cracked handle, it looked like maybe the cardboard had slipped out and the handle had been smashed against the side of the box. So I called CS and asked for a replacement, it arrived the other day and when I opened it, it had the same issue. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and should I just settle for what I have or should I try to get yet another replacement?
Mine was cracked and it looked as if it was going to fall apart. Since I ordered it thinking it would be a nice travel case for accessories, I sent it back. This was a cute idea, but it obviously doesn't hold up well.
I just got the case as a replacement part (which means it was just tossed into a bag and into a cardboard shipping box with no wrapping) and it arrived in mint condition. I have another one 9the whole set) on the way; I'll have to check it carefully when it arrives!

The same exact thing happened to me. The handle was squashed in shipping. I called for a replacement and that one was damaged the same way. I wrote a long letter to AG and they had a third one sent to me with special handling and it arrived fine. They had to put extra packing peanuts in both the inner and outer box. This item is very delicate. I wish they would have made the handle out of metal. It doesn't seem like it will hold up very well.
I have to agree.. Simply Adorable... Check the handle when it arrives...I never looked.I gave a quick look and hid for Christmas.I was alerted to this issue on another board and sure enough went to check it and cracked! Mine was cracked on each side near the base... I am calling Customer service today to get a replacement!
UPDATE... CS Is sending a replacement asap! Awsome CS in managing problem! Had her notate shipping issues!
Sad To Report 2nd Set Arrived cracked as well.. Not as bad as the 1st but still cracked.
On A Plus...It Arrived in Illinois from my early call and arrived today.. Great CS and fast shipping
I would have to give the set a B+. I'd like to give it an A, but I bought the case so I would no longer have free floating doll hair accessories in my purse, and the case didn't quite meet my expectations. While it is cute, the handle is prone to snapping (or tearing, actually, since it's just paper), and I had to reinforce it with scotch tape. Also, if you're not careful, opening the case the wrong way will cause all the rubber bands, etc., to spill out. My other problem is that the hair brush compartment only fits the standard AG-sized brush, and not the slightly bigger doll brushes bought at most online retailers.
I do love this set, though, despite all my griping. The tiara is definitely the best piece, and goes very well with Mia's silver skate dress. The hair clips are small, but I love the star shape. The blue elastics are really simple and go with most outfits, the perfect size, and I find myself using them a lot. They aren't very durable, though - one of mine snapped while I was taking it out of someone's hair. And the U-pins and clear elastics are so useful, I can't even describe my gratitude...I wish they sold these as replacement parts!
Oh, and only one word can describe that mini book: cute, cute, CUTE!
Pairs skating? Oh my.

C+ Mia's hair case came cracked, and one of the blue hairbands broke from just putting mia's hair in a ponytail, and when I called americangirl they sent me a new haircase and they were supposed to send me the blue hairbands but they only set me the case and some clear rubber bands!!!!
I love this little case, it is adorable. Mine is not cracked, and hasn't cracked since I got it, like other say. The little clear elastics are very durable, which I like. The blue hair ties, not so much.
