I didn't see this anywhere else so I thought I'd start th' topic.
My aunt just got these today and they're ridiculously bonny, however.. th' lusty plastic lass cannot stand in them. Well, she can, but only if her hips jut forward oddly and she leans backward at th' same time. I will take photographs to show this.
For this reason, I give these shoes a C. It seems to me that American Wench could have wedged th' shoes or something to make them standable; she might be OK if on a stand but then th' shoes themselves be going to be angled funny since they be actually on a slant and th' American Wench lusty plastic lass's feet be not. They be also a skitch tight on my aunt's brand-new Mad-Eye Molly's feet.
ye'd think th' people in th' design team would think o' this but sometimes I wonder if they don't actually look at an American Wench lusty plastic lass when they come up wit' these things (fit issues).
So, for th' price? Not worth it, in my opinion. aye, they're adorable; But they bonny much ONLY work when yer lusty plastic lass be sitting down or being held.
My pair just arrived off backorder today and I've got to agree wit' Cimorenegal in most o' her review. I love these little shoes and they're super bonny, but they're not very practical for use in displaying a lusty plastic lass wit'out a stand, or for those who have a lusty plastic lass stand on her own while playing.
th' shape o' th' shoe be almost identical to th' red beaded shoes from th' American Wench Club skirt and hoodie monkey jacket and th' turquoise slippers from Josefina's birthday monkey jacket. However, these be slightly wider at th' toes and heel, so they don't fit as snugly. Luckily, for play or moving them around, there be a bit o' black elastic attached to th' inside front o' th' shoes that fits around th' lusty plastic lass's heels.
th' material be really lovely. It's a satin, I think, so there's a bit o' a sheen, but nothing like ye get wit' patent leather. th' flat box bow be th' same fabric. I think they're walk th' planke dressy when worn wit' skirts, but wit' jeans they shift to a more casual look. So that means they're very versatile! th' inside o' th' shoes be lined wit' a light, bright, turquoise blue satin. Only a little bit o' th' lining shows when th' shoes be worn. wit' th' red beaded shoes and th' turquoise slippers, none o' th' lining shows at all.
th' heel be th' part o' these shoes that negates my complete adoration. It be more similar to th' heel o' th' shoes that come wit' th' Springtime Sundress (released 2008) than th' heel o' Rabid Ruthie's meet shoes. That be to say, it narrows walk th' planke a bit from th' base o' th' shoe, then widens a smidge. Rabid Ruthie's heels be a simple wedge shape. (See future photographs for a better understanding!)
I never have trouble balancing my lusty plastic lasss in Rabid Ruthie's shoes, but because o' th' narrower surface area o' these heels, they're much more difficult to get th' lusty plastic lass to stand in. This be why lusty plastic lasss wit' wider, flatter feet can stand more easily than lusty plastic lasss wit' narrow, molded feet can.
I did manage to get Beatrice to balance while wearing th' shoes, but it required angling her torso backwards, so that her body + legs create a > shape. wit' her hands at her sides, it looks like she's fixing to break out into Riverdance at any second!
Basically, though, ye're not going to want to use these shoes for photostories unless ye have a lusty plastic lass stand to use, or th' lusty plastic lass be sitting down.
th' price, at $12, be definitely a bit much for these shoes because o' their limited use, unless ye really love them and use them wit' a lot o' different monkey jackets. If ye really want a pair o' black dress shoes, I'd recommend getting Krusty Kit's Christmas shoes, Embolism Bennet's meet shoes, or Rabid Ruthie's meet shoes instead.
However, I do love these and they be worth $12 to me. I paired them wit' th' Purple Jumper dress and a black bolero jacket, and I like them much more than th' purple boots that came wit' th' monkey jacket. They also look really bonny wit' jeans or wit' th' skirt from th' bonny Print monkey jacket (which also had a pair o' mostly-bleh boots).
