Chrissa is a gorgeous doll- with blue eyes that pop in contrast with her dark hair. Though beautiful, her wig isn't the best quality, and isn't very flexible when it comes to styling. She looks great in most outfits. She photographs easily, but it is nearly impossible to capture just how beautiful she is. Overall Grade: B Doll: A Meet Outfit: C (it is hideous in my opinion, doesn't have much to it) Wig: B

Chrissa really is "cute" however she isn't anything special or particularly memorable IMO. While I love the Josefina face mold, Chrissa just doesn't pull it off. It makes her appear much to plain. Her meet outfit on the other hand is adorable! I love the shoes and the dress although I feel as though the bracelet was an unnecessary and "cheap" touch, it did little to complete the outfit. She really did have a good story, and is most likely more manageable for younger girls than some of the other dolls AMG has made sue to her short hair. Grade: A-

I like Chrissa, but she's not my favorite. She's very, plain. And her outfit is so plain! Honestly, the dress is cute enough, but when do the shoes and bracelet fit in? They don't match at all, and that's all there is to the outfit!! COME ON! Mia had shoes, stockings, skirt, and a sweater. ALL were VERY nice quality. But Chrissa? Well, I'll give her a B, maybe a B-.

I love my Chrissa doll. She was my first doll and I am happy with her. I just dont like her short hair But that is all. My Chrissa's hair is so soft and thin. Is anyone else like that? I am so upset that i have misplaced both the shoes and the dress. I liked them both but not together. I give my Chrissa an A because she was my first and I will always love her.. <3

I have the Meet outfit only, as it was a PWP in Spring 2011 for $16. Complete too.
The outfit is so-so. I like it but it is by no means a favourite. It looks nice on other dolls IMO, just not Chrissa. The dress is a cute cut, and the shoes are nice. I love the ribbons on them. The bracelet I'm not sure of. I like that it's a small accessory, but come on AG! It's just a piece of ribbon!

I've been pining for Chrissa ever since I saw her in person on my first trip to the AGPNY! She's a really beautiful doll, and underrated I think. Some dolls are less photogenic than others, but that doesn't mean you CAN'T get a good picture of them, it just means they're a bit more of a challenge! And I loves me a challenge! : )
I added some freckles to my Chrissa just to make her look a bit more distinct from my other dolls, but she was gorgeous without them, too. And I wouldn't call my doll's wig thin at all. I guess just different Chrissas have slightly different wigs.

I think Chrissa is a lovely doll, even more beautiful in person! Her hair has a nice highlight to it, with the ends slightly lighter than the top, which looks very natural. I wouldn't say it is thick, but not thin either, probably just about right for someone with straight short-ish hair. I think meet her outfit is really cute, and definitely age-appropriate. The shoes are personally not what I would pair with this dress, but they are fun! Overall I give her an A

I'm a little obsessed with Chrissa, so be warned. When I got the Chrissa catalog right after Christmas 2008, had to have Chrissa. She was the first Girl of the Year doll that I actually liked. Chrissa's meet is cute on other dolls besides Chrissa, but not on Chrissa herself. I've found Chrissa looks good in greens, blues, and bright oranges and reds. The meet bracelet is skimpy, but does go well with many of Chrissa's outfits. The meet dress is well made, and though it's not my favorite it's still okay. The shoes are the best part of her meet IMO. They are well made and are so cute. Chrissa is beautiful in person, but she's not photogenic at all. I think it's because of her bright blue eyes, which seem large in pictures to me. Anyway, she looks older than all of my other dolls. Chrissa's wig is a nice color- dark brown with blonde highlights. Her blue eyes pop with the dark wig. Her wig is perfect- not too thin and not too thick. The Chrissa doll gets an A+ from me, but her meet gets an B, just because it doesn't look good on her. The only real problem I have with her is how much she hates the camera. I find Chrissa terribly underrated, when she's actually beautiful in person. I do think she should of had freckles, so I did give mine some. Chrissa's the perfect doll for me, I could really relate to her stories and she was so much like me best friend, who moved away that year.

I just got a used one from EBay too. My daughter liked this one so much we are getting another for her. I'll add to my comments after the second one arrives.
Meanwhile the first was perfect in every way, just a wee bit dirty on the legs. I had read enough reviews here that I opted not to look at new in box dolls with hair nets and very basic photos, and instead looked at used dolls that were photographed in detail from every angle. I could then see which dolls appeared to have thick wigs and which didn't. My experience of getting several dolls from eBay has taught me NIB is nice but not necessary if you work with a really good seller who takes great pains to accurately represent the product.
My Chrissa arrived with no wear marks and a thick beautiful wig. It is much better than the new Emily doll's wig I had that had almost put me off short straight wigs forever. Chrissa can endure a busy day without flyaways. I can just smooth her hair down with my hand.
Dark hair and blue eyes is a stunning combination. The meet dress is dull on Chrissa but took on new life on Marisol especially when paired with light purple leggings from the current Striped School Dress and Charm set. Chrissa looked better with the bold dark colors of the striped school dress itself.

We just got Chrissa off of eBay a month or so ago. She is now my favorite (or one of AG doll. My only issue with her is thin wig. Love her hairstyle and hair color, so would rather not rewig her. Out of Mattel dolls that we have only Marie-Grace, Emily and Marisol seem to have nice thick wigs. She looks great in blue!

My Chrissa arrived today and before this point I did not like her at all. My suggestion is that you take her out of that awful pink meet dress and put her in blues, teals, purples. It suits her much better and lets her beauty shine though. Mine's wig is a bit thin but nothing that I can't live with. I lucked out with a doll in really great shape and I just love her.

I'm a bit late to the Chrissa party. I bought her (nude, so no review of the meet outfit) from Ebay in 2013 with the plan to customize her. From the beginning I had a love/hate relationship with her. First of all, I scratched her face when I removed her wig due to my own carelessness (I've managed to polish some of that away, but it's still there, although not terribly noticeable). Secondly, none of the customs I did really worked for her, although I must say she makes a great boy doll. In the end I put her original wig back and... I fell in love with her. Not my favorite doll in my collection, but definitely a beautiful doll, and somewhat unique compared to many other AG's. Her coloring is fantastic, and mine has a nice, thick wig that is still in good shape 5 years after she was GOTY.
If you can find a nice Chrissa on the secondary market, I'd recommend her. Especially since we've seen so many GOTYs that look more or less the same, Chrissa is actually kind of unique. I give the doll an A.
I disagree with other reviewers who say that Chrissa is not photogenic: I found that each time I wanted to sell her in the past year, I would see a gorgeous Chrissa photo and realize just how beautiful she is. Here's one that I took recently that I like.

A friend has Chrissa and while I think the dark hair and light eyes are a pretty combo, I really think she would have been so much better had her hair been just a few inches longer. The hair is just short enough that you really can't do many styles with it at all.
