Your American girl can help Kit get the scoop on a big news story with this set:
* A flip-top journal and a fountain pen for taking notes * A fabric pouch for Kit to carry her supplies * A newspaper bundle * A pretend accordion-style camera and a Kodak® film box * 5 stickers—pretend photos that show a girl’s-eye view of the Great Depression
I just got this (early!) and I'm very pleased with it.
The flip-top journal is tiny and very cute. The fountain pen is tiny (cap removes) and has Kit's name embossed on the side. The fabric pouch is cute but has a velcro closures and is very small. The pen fits in the tiny area on the front but I really had to work to get the notebook out and back in. The newspaper bundle is adorable and after peaking inside there's stuff printed on the inside pages, too!
The pretend accordion-style camera, Kodak® film box, and 5 stickers—pretend photos are the same but I'm glad to have backups since they're so delicate. The camera case is nearly the same but without the magnet closure. It now slips into a strap.
I'd say this set is not for young children due to the many tiny and frustrating parts.
Now I need to make her a visor and sleeve guards. Maybe a tiny brass pica pole, too.

Grade: B+
I just got this set and I opened up Kit's camera, and it came broken. The lens was not attatched to the rubber coil thing. But AG is sending me a new set. Yay! And it's so delicate I'm scared to death of opening it!
The rest is down right adorable. So detailed and cute. I really liked the newspapers. I took one out and I can read it! There's enough of them for all my dolls to read! Everything is just so detailed. I love it. I would definatley recommend it, but not for young children. Maybe 10+.

i'm going to have to separate my assessment of this set into two sections:
1. the delicate nature of the camera SUCKS and is ridiculous... seriously if it was just a matter of need to be careful, i'd overlook it but it seems almost statistically IMPOSSIBLE NOT to eventually have it break.
that said...
2. this set gets an A+ for the fountain pen ALONE. i think it's so funny that her produce has to be clumped into a huge wad of peaches to avoid "choking" or "losing pieces" but her fountain pen has a pen cap that is removable. it is absolutely enchanting and is demonstrative of why i adore these accessory sets. the notepad is amazing - the pictures are adorable and even the aggravating nature of the camera cannot eclipse it's detailed beauty! additionally - the newspapers are AMAZING.

Kit's Reporter Set Item# F8954 $28
Kit has a nose for news, so she always keeps this set handy. Your American girl can help Kit get the scoop on a big news story with this set:
* A flip-top journal and a fountain pen for taking notes * A fabric pouch for Kit to carry her supplies * A newspaper bundle * A pretend accordion-style camera and a Kodak® film box * 5 stickers—pretend photos that show a girl’s-eye view of the Great DepressionJust a few more observations and some photos. The flip-top journal contains real paper that is blank so you can really take notes, although the pen doesn't really write. The fabric pouch holds Kit's journal and pen. The newspaper bundle contains 10 newspapers all of which are the same issue and can really be taken out and read. The camera opens, but be careful. Flip up on the silver tab that says "kodak" on the front of the camera to unlock the front. Then pull carefully out. Works just like the real thing! The Kodak film box doesn't open, but looks exactly like a real box of flim. Now for photos: All of Kit's Reporter Set items Camera, case and sticker photos Fountain pen, film, pouch and journal Real Cincinnati Register newspaper Fountain pen really opens And according to Tiffany's scans of the Photography Set, the photos included with the Reporter Set are different. Here are these photos: This set is great and worth the price and the back-order wait. Grade A.

I really like this set... and I have to agree - the camera is very fragile. DH had to open it for me, at which point I determined that it would never be closed again. I forgot to photograph the newspapers and the camera case. I think the newspapers are so cute too - I slipped one out like someone suggested, so I could read it. The Kodak box is just a small Kodak box - nothing spectacular. The journal barely (and I mean just barely) fits in the pouch - and I had to put the pen in first, otherwise the pen didn't go in at all. The stickers, I didn't like them. So, what I did is I cut a flap off of a regular AG clothing box, and stuck the stickers to that - then I cut them out perfectly. Now they are the weight of actual photographs, and much more sturdy, so I don't have to worry about wrecking them. I highly recommend doing this. Overall, I give this set a B+! Only because the camera is so so fragile, and Kit's journal barely fits into the pouch. D~

I just got Kit's reporter set yesterday and I love the detail, especially the little fountain pen. The camera can be very frustrating to open and I don't think it is good for children at all. I can see where my 11 yo DD would break it in a manner of minutes just trying to get it open. With free shipping I think it is well worth the money and an adorable display piece. I give the entire set a B+, not an A just because the camera is so fragile and not really a toy to play with.

I love this set for all the pieces and details. Plus, it's an actual accessory set.
All the items are adorable and seem so true to Kit. I can just imagine her going around town preparing to write her article! I cut the photos apart so they would each be individual and then store them in the drawer of her typewriter box.

While the set is great for display, even without the Kodak film being able to be on my display, it's too bulky to fit in the camera bag, the stickers have started to fall off my display, It's only been four months sice I got Kit's reporter set NIB from Ebay. I feel sad to have that happen so soon.

Adorable! One of the best historical sets. The pen is too cute and has Kit's name on it. the little notepad is sweet. The pouch holds both perfectly and slips on her shoulder. the camera is wonderful.
