The tea party outfits have never been one of my favorites and I wasn’t planning to add them to my collection. However, a discounted price and the “purpleness” won me over. The pieces also have some mix and match potential.
The tea party pants set is the better of the two tea party outfits. The outfit includes a hat, blouse, Capri-length pants, sandals, and a tea party book.
Blouse: The purple pleated blouse is typical AG quality. The blouse is a little tight in the sleeves and around the waist of both the bittys and the 18”ers. The Velcro in the back is the snag-free type. I could have done without the flower, but it’s okay.
Capris- I really like the capri pants. They are definitely the best part of the outfit and something my preschooler would wear. The Capris fit both the Bitty and 18” dolls well, though they are obviously shorter on the full-sized dolls. They have an elastic waist and there are tiny pleats with bows at the bottom of each leg.
Shoes: The sandals are cute. I especially like the little embroidered flower on each shoe. However, they are very light and a little on the flimsy side. They are also too big on both the bitty and 18” dolls. Even though the Velcro is somewhat adjustable, their feet slide around in them.
Hat-In my opinion, the hat is floppy and shapeless. It doesn’t add anything to the outfit. Actually, it probably takes away from the other pieces. Also, the hat doesn’t fit the dolls as well as some of the other pieces, but it sort of works.
Book-The book is a typical Bitty Twin book. We read the story once, but probably won’t look at it again.
I’d probably give the outfit a low B or B-. It isn’t terrible, but there are definitely nicer outfits available. I definitely wouldn’t pay full price for this set, but that’s just me.
