This is a great set, but I wish they had made the school bag separate from the lunch. I feel the lunch is the same quality (or better) than any other lunch, but the school bag is lacking.
The lunch fits nicely inside the box and the box has a functional buckle to hold it closed.
The school bag is nice, and the drawtring means Rebecca can hold it herself. Everything fits into the bag. The pocket in front is real with a functioning button. The Kewpie doll notebook is mentioned in "Rebecca to the Rescue" and the sheet music and flag are from "Rebecca and Ana." The pencil is functional. I wish there were more school-ish supplies. *MOD EDIT to remove dead image links*
I got the set today (the first of my Rebecca items!) and I am very pleased with the set as a whole. I do wish there was a schoolbook included but I like the Kempie notebook, pencil, and sheet music. The flag is smaller than other PC or AG flags and is very polyester/rayonish. The schoolbag is wonderful. It's made of a cottony twill (and good weight!) and I love the working button. A-
The lunchbox and foods are the best parts. The black fabric-covered lunchbox is lined with red-and-white striped fabric (the edges aren't finished and might tend to fray) and contains the bagel (sliced with cheese on one half), the two attached pickles and the Rugalach. The napkin is a very nice heavy-weight cotton with lace. A+

I love Rebecca's sweet little lunch box! It looks just like something you'd see in illustrations of her time period, though it doesn't appear in her book illustrations.
The red and white striped interior is a cheerful surprise.
The songbook is a single sheet of thin cardboard folded in half.
The interior shows the music. It's unfortunate that the book didn't include any paper pages, but I suppose the song is too short to really warrant that. According to Wikipedia, "You're A Grand Old Flag" was the first set of sheet music to sell over 1 million copies. Who knew?
ETA: Apparently the song is longer. Rebecca's music only includes the chorus, but the song itself has several verses. It was written for the 1906 musical "George Washington Jr."
Rebecca's notebook is decorated with Kewpie dolls, one of which her brother wins for her at Coney Island in her fifth book. The back cover has a multiplication table and the interior paper is lined.
Rebecca and her classmates wave their 48-star flags during their assembly honoring the school's new flag. This flag is similar in size and quality to the flags that come with Josefina's summer fun accessories.
Rebecca's cotton, drawstring school bag has a little pocket on the front to hold her pencil. The pencil is bigger than other, previously released AG pencils. The bag is cute, but it seems impractical.
What do you think- should we eat Rebecca's lunch?
Rebecca's lunch comes with a little napkin, whose edges she probably crocheted herself. She gets two pickles, a bagel and cheese sandwich, and a little pile of rugelach. It stinks that the food is all stuck together, but luckily it doesn't have that gross gummy quality that many AG foods do.

I give the set a B for the following reasons-- No school book--just the sheet music Food stuck together in odd clumps for no reason (It's still small enough to clear a paper towel tube, and hence, could be swallowed by a small child). Because of the factors, the play value is somewhat limited. Although the multiplication table on the back of the notebook was a nice touch, the lack of a school book and report card still makes it difficult to "play school."
Peace, love and DOLLS--whenever life gets you down

While I do not own this set yet, I have to give it a C. Here's why: There are no actual school books. The notebook is nice, but why can't there be a school book? The lunch is clumped together. As someone pointed out, even clumped, a child could choke, so why bother? That sounds rude but it's not. The overall feel of the set is lacking somehow. But that's how I feel about AG some of the time anyway...
Again I give this set a C. The "value" just isn't there for me...

This set is nice to have for Rebecca but I wish there was a school book. The bagel is cute though the other clumped food is "eh". I like the bag and the real little pencil is, well, a real little pencil.
