This item was introduced in 2009 and retired in 2015.
When night falls in New York City, Rebecca can snuggle up for sweet dreams in this beautiful bed set:
A fancy bed with pink metal scrollwork and golden medallions
A sheer white bedspread with integrated lace
A striped pillow that fits inside an embroidered bolster with tassels at the sides
A soft mattress for her to sleep on
Rebecca's bed and bedding $118
Grade A+++
When I first heard that Rebecca was going to have a pink bed, I was skeptical. Then, when I heard it was going to have "gold medallions" on it, I was just confused. I did not need to worry though; AG did not disappoint.
Appearance: A+++
The color of the bed is beautiful. It is not a super bright "princess" pink, but more of an antique pastel pink. It has a "creamy" look to it.
The medallions are very shiny! So shiny that at first I assumed that they had to be plastic. Upon further examination, I realized they are cold to the touch like the metal parts of the bed. I still am not 100% sure what they are made of, but for now I am leaning toward metal. Either way, they are beautiful and VERY impressive.I think they keep the bed from being too juvenile.
The linens are simple and crisp. Defiantly something I think Rebecca would have liked, and possibly even made herself.
Construction: A++
The bedframe arrives in three parts: head board, foot board and base. The feet are part of the base.
The head and foot boards snap into plastic-lined holes in the base. It takes a bit of pressure (probably should be done by an adult), but no tools are involved, so assembly is pretty easy. I have not tried separating the pieces, so no comment on that.
The mattress is rather thin, more like Samantha's mattress than Felicity's or Addy's. I think it will sag over time, so I may put a piece of cardboard underneath to support it. It is probably the most disappointing part of the set.
The bedspread is lacy on the top with two delicate ruffles that hang down like a bed skirt. Also very thin.
The bolster and pillow surprised me. The pillow is striped and rectangular. You are supposed to store it in the bolster which is kind of like a fabric-covered paper towel tube with the back cut away (only larger and sturdier). It has embroidery on the top and cotton tassels on each end.
Overall, I highly recommend this bed. It is one of my favorites.
