Grade: A
I really liked these outfits in the AG stock photos and was equally impressed with the sets in person. Both schooltime sets have lots of pieces that mix-and-match well with each other. The pieces also mix-and-match well with a variety of other JLY and Bitty Baby items. It’s a really nice basic set.
According to the AG Description:
Perfect for the first day of preschool—a cropped jacket with a ruffle-trimmed skirt to match, coral tank top, magenta tights, and ankle boots. You can even “start” preschool with the Twins in the Bitty Twins Go to School book, which includes parenting tips.
Knit Jacket:
I really like the fabric for the jacket and wish they would’ve used it in the coordinating set. However, I like the fabric in that set as well. The jacket is easy to put on and has a Velcro closure in front under the bow. It fits both the Bitty and 18” dolls, though the sleeves are a little short on the full-sized dolls.
Tank Top:
The knit, sleeveless coral top has a flower appliqué in front which matches the appliqués on other pieces. It has a Velcro closure in the back. The top has a ton of mix-and-match potential. It fits both the Bitty and 18” dolls well.
Ruffled Skirt:
The ruffled skirt is made of a fleece-like material and has three flower appliqués that match the ones on the sleeveless top. The skirt has an elastic waist and is easy for little hands to put on. While the skirt was cut for the Bitty Twin dolls, it’s no shorter on the 18” dolls than many of the JLY skirts.
Tights:
The tights are typical AG tights and snag easily. Although they don’t have as much mix-and-match potential, the bright purple is a nice change from other colors.
Ankle Boots:
While all the pieces are nice, the artificial suede ankle boots are my favorite part of the set. They’re sturdy, well made, cute, and can be worn with many different outfits. In addition the boots fit wonderfully on both the 18” and Bitty dolls. The boots have “snag-less Velcro” in the back.
Book:
The book is about the Bitty Twins going to preschool. We usually don’t read the books more than once and I doubt it’ll get much use. There are parenting tips in the back about helping children adjust to preschool, but they’re nothing earth-shattering.
