This item was released in 2009 and retired in 2012.
Julie loves to share her favorite treat—chocolate fondue! This set includes everything Julie needs for a ‘70s-style party: A metal fondue pot that sits on a wooden base, Four pretend fruit skewers to dip in the fondue, A faux gelatin-mold dessert on a pedestal stand, Two ceramic plates, two textured glasses, and two cloth napkins, A printed vinyl tablecloth to keep her table clean.
I just bought it and really think it's way cute. Don't like the plastic handle and knob on the fondue pot, but Mattel isn't Pleasant Company!! The plates are ceramic and the glasses, glass and the pot is metal. It's a very versatile set w/ lot's of play options. My only real gripe is the apples and strawberries are stuck to the fondue forks. Would have liked it better if they could be put on and off.

I can't remember who asked for these pictures but since I'm at the doll house I have finally got them together.
The fondue set is cute and size appropriate. The vinyl table cloth sticks together ... just like the real ones and the colors were "hot" in the 70's.

Julie's Fondue set is so groovy . I collect fondue pots & fondue cookbooks from the 70's, so this set is right up my alley! The fondue pot is very realistic looking, I have a people sized fondue pot from the 70's that looks exactly like it. The dishes are replicas of a stoneware pattern that was popular in the 70's, same with the amber glasses. This set also comes with fondue forks, napkins, a vinyl tablecloth, and some type of pink strawberry desert on a white stand. I give this set an A+ for authenticity!

A friend of mine has this and I was recently able to see it. What a sweet set this is. We still have our 1970s fondue pot except ours was burnt orange. The glasses are just like ones my aunt had and served iced tea in in the summer.
