I bought #42 at AGB-ATL this week. She is my first MyAG. I always thought she was a pretty doll, but hesitated to buy her sight unseen. Being able to scope her out in the store was important to me.
I agree that the "textured hair" description is misleading. Her hair is actually the same as Chrissa's or Emily's. Like Chrissa's, it seems to become disheveled easily, but it can be tidied easily as well.
Her cloth body is about the same color as Kaya's, but her skin tone seems a little lighter and "cooler"
I really like her. I think hair styling may be a challenge because her hair is very slippery.
gorgeous doll! looks just like MAG 25 but with medium skin. her hair did not appear to be any different from any other doll, maybe a little bit thicker, but definitely not textured. I don't know why this doll doesn't get that much attention, she is gorgeous!
I had this doll for a couple of days but didn't get any pictures of her, sorry. Chose her at AG Seattle. She was not even on my radar when I went into the store, but I saw her and was immediately taken. She's very beautiful- the medium skin and brown eyes are gorgeous! Her eyes are her best feature in my opinion and AG should make more dolls with medium skin and her shade of brown eyes.
Her wig was a little confusing, for lack of a better word. Pretty color- dark brown with some red and light brown hairs in for good measure, but dark overall- but the texture was odd. AG says it's textured, but it hardly is! It actually feels more like my own hair than white dolls like McKenna's. So it definitely does not feel textured, but I didn't really like how it felt. Felt kinda icky and cheap to me even though it isn't, and it falls kind of oddly. Almost looked a bit greasy? In my opinion, she would have been better off with either completely smooth hair, or truly textured hair like Addy's. Black hair would have been lovely on her as well. Texture aside, the wig is nicely thick and has the short hairs in back. It does have a tendency to fall over her face and get stuck in her eyelashes on her right side so I suggest pulling her hair back on that side, but she looks quite cute with her hair pulled back!
In the end, I had to return my doll because the length of her wig was seriously uneven. It was more than an inch longer one one side and looked awful. Confirmed with other forum members that the wig was not supposed to be this way. I decided to exchange her for a #49 who I am quite happy with, but this doll really deserves more love! I promise she is even more beautiful in person and the wig texture probably won't bother most people. Definitely could have lived with it and probably would have gotten used to it if I'd had her longer.
My grade: B+, the texture and look of the wig is what knocked down my grade.
#42 is an absolutely adorable doll! Mine has a slight head tilt, which makes her look shy and inquisitive. Her eyes are pinwheel rather than decal brown, which you can see in this picture:
I agree with other reviewers that "textured" is the wrong word to describe her wig. It's a hair (ha!) coarser than my Chrissa's, but it's not all that noticeable. I like that the slight coarseness helps hold hairstyles in place. She has short hairs in the back to cover her wig cap for split hairstyles, but she has a rather inconvenient length for double braids. Pigtails are probably a better bet for her.
The current meet outfit (while a huge improvement over the last two) does nothing at all for her coloring; IMO she looks best in saturated colors. I adore the way she looks in McKenna's school outfit.
I give my Trudy Cutie an A+! I think she could time travel well, and I like her wig length. A young child might prefer longer hair for more styling options.
Happy holidays from a sugar-crashed Trudy and Ingrid!

I bought my #42 in 2012 from AG-ATL. She still doesn't have a strong personality, but every time I consider selling her, I'm once again captivated by her looks. I enjoy her hair the most: it's thick and slightly textured so it appears unique compared to the other dolls released over the past few years.
