Your Girl of Today can tote her sleeping bag along to slumber parties where everyone will be buzzing about the logo on the front that glows in the dark! Or unzip the bag all the way around for two fluffy comforters that are just the right size for her bunk beds.
This sleep sack is nice and thick material. It's lined with flannel on the inside, and the print of the flannel says "perfect pals, best buds, faithful friends, American girls" and has envelopes on it. It also has a pocket on the front, maybe for a book or for her glasses. The outline of the logo girl on the pocket glows in the dark. I was surprised that it still glowed after so long, but it worked fine.
It's a bit of an awkward size because it's sort of wide (hence sleepsack, I suppose) and the doll's head sticks out a bit.
It unzips all the way around to form two blankets, and the zipper works very well. The blankets are meant to go on the yellow bunk beds, which I don't have. In this picture the bottom part is shown lining up and the top part is outside-up.
It has elastic bands on it to hold it in a roll. Mine are a little stretched out, I think, but not too bad. To see the size of it rolled up I put it next to a well-known item--an AG hairbrush.
Overall an A-, would get an A+ if the size were less awkward. If I had the bunk beds, though, I'd give it an A+, because it would be of more use. It's very sturdy, though, and a nice piece. Recommended, if you have the opportunity for one of a good price.

I bought this with my very first "paycheck" around 1996. (Long story.... I'd tell it but I don't want to anger Angry Jess. ) I've always loved this sleeping bag. It was the only piece of real AG bedding I had growing up. I don't have the bunk beds these were supposed to go on (although I always wanted them). But I do have a set of bunk beds that my dad made for me years ago. These make great blankets for any bed. That's what I used it for. The mini dolls were released at about the same time as the sleep sack. sleep sack 6 by Elizabeth, on Flickr sleep sack 7 by Elizabeth, on Flickr SailorMolly

I got this for Christmas 1995 along with the bunk beds. It is high quality- higher quality than many sleeping bags and comforters I've seen for adults. It's not super fluffy like some comforters but I think it's fine. It fits the bunk bed great and I really like that it can double as a sleeping bag. Very clever! A+ from me. I'm not the hugest fan of the color black but I really appreciate the uniqueness of this sleep sack- it isn't the pink or pastel that seems to be the only option with current AG stuff.

At one point I had FIVE of these in my possession (from lots)! They varied slightly in the interior prints. Sadly I don't have any side-by-side pictures, but one lining was shinier and more grey, and the other blacker and more matte.
