Product description from AG website:
"Molly’s classic pajamas are made of the softest red-and-white-striped material. They’re styled with cuffed pants and sleeves and a matching belt. The girl’s pajamas have all the classic details of Molly’s: open lapels, the same cuffed pants and sleeves, and red trim [note, no belt]. Flame-resistant polyester. Imported."
As I've related elsewhere, my son has an American Girl doll. PJs are a big thing in our family, and he wanted to match his doll the way his sister does. So we bought a pair of Molly's pajamas for him. He looooves them, and I must say that they are totally adorable on him. I know that they are technically American Girl pajamas, and I'm sure that they would be really sweet on a girl too, but they also work for boys. I will try to post pictures later.
The sizing seems pretty true - he is a size 5, skinny with long limbs, and the XS (sz4/5) fits him quite well. The pants are cut pretty wide, but there is a good (but not too tight) elastic around the waist. The top fits perfectly.
I have washed the PJS multiple times, and there doesn't appear to be much pill-ing. Note: there are at least two versions of these PJs; we have the newer one purchased in 2009. I spent ages trying to decide in the store, but eventually went with the brighter, slighter thinner, newer looking version. The older, more flannel-ly version looked softer, but more prone to pill-ing. That's just conjecture, though.
I give these a A. $39 for a pair of PJs is a bit steep for me, but when combined with the doll pajamas for $54 I think it was worth it.
