After seeing how cute this outfit is on my doll, I couldn't resist majorly splurging and buying it for myself The rugby dress for girls is made from a pretty high quality knit fabric; the blue and green stripes match up front to back, unlike on the doll version. There are three buttons near the neckline, and the dragonfly patch on the left chest says "American Girl" on the top. I think the color combination is very nice, since it's both cute on a child, and not cutesy to the point of looking too childish on an older girl/teenager/young adult. The dress has a drop-waist, below which the stripes are at a diagonal. The skirt ends about 4 inches above my knee, which is a decently cute length. (FYI, I'm 5 feet 1, about 135 pounds, wear a B/C bra, and this is a size 16 dress). Besides the fact that the sleeves are a bit tight on me because of my recent weight gain, the dress is otherwise very comfy. Compared to the doll version, the skirt doesn't flare out as much; it's more of an even width from the waist down than the more obvious, wider skirt on the doll. Overall, I would rate this an A-, simply because of the price... at $42, it's just a bit high. Otherwise, it's a really cute outfit, and matches with the doll version very closely. Anyway, pictures! With my doll Rainie, who is wearing the doll version of Lanie's outfit: Front: Side:

A really cute and comfortable dress! I bought it for my 11 year old Daughter as a birthday present and she loves it. It does seem to run a little small (she would normally wear a Large or 14 - I'm glad I sized up to the 16). It's more of a straighter fit than Lanie's dress which flares at the bottom. I also bought the matching headband. My Daughter says it's comfortable to wear. Dress and Headband both get an A+!!!!!!
