Kaya's Bedroll $24 WDAQ Grade: D ** I think this is one of the most worthless pieces of historical trash they could have made. My daughter bought it with her own money and what a freaking waste of money it was. The "mat" is 17 inches long and you could but a place mat for 3 bucks for that. the fur is cheep crap fur. The edges are unfinished so it looks trashy. You can go buy a bit of faux fur at walmart for far less and cut it yourself. There is a small pillow to stuff into the pillow cover in white. the only peeve worth much in this set. The Shield is far to small to be a real shield. The scale is far to small in my opinion. You could make it yourself with a better paint job for about $4.00. Go get your own twigs and lash them together. All in all wait for a sale or a code of some sort.

I disagree! I give this set an A ! It is so cute and soft and I wish I could shrink to Kaya's size to snuggle with her. The shield feels like real leather and my Kaya enjoys her bedroll very much.

The selling point for me was how cheap it was when compared to the other historical girl's bedding and how compact it is to store(fold up and stash).
Though it's not anything *special* it adds a nice touch to my Kaya's collection and I'm glad I got it.

I got this for Christmas and I am very happy with it! Although I realize it would be possible to make the set fairly easily (cutting the two skin items out of fake fur, and making the pillow) I am still delighted to have it to add to my poor Kaya's tiny collection. The shield, of course, is not intended to be USED as a shield - as the description indicates, it is just to stand outside her tepee to identify who lives inside. My 4-year-old granddaughter was with me when I opened it, and she loved it too.

Kaya’s Bedroll Item# WDAQ $24 "Inside her tepee, Kaya sleeps in a unique way, with this set that features: * A buffalo hide for a bed—with a tule mat underneath to keep the hide warm and dry * A pillow with a soft fur cover * When it’s cold, she wraps up in the elk hide * Plus, she places the shield outside her tepee to show who lives inside" We love this set for Kaya. The 'furs' are so soft and cozy. The little shield is so cute. My favorite part is the suede pillow (that is hand-stitched) and the white 'rabbit fur' cover for it. Grade A Sizes: Tule Mat - 19" x 13" Buffalo Hide - 18" x 12" (at the narrowest) Elk Hide - 16" x 15" (roughly) pillow - 4" x 5 1/2" fur cover - 7 1/2" x 5 1/2" Shield: sticks - 11" long; symbol - 3 3/4" diameter Kaya and her bedding for size comparison

Bedroll WDAQ: $24 Grade: B+When Purchased: I purchased this set directly from AG in 2007. Description: There are several pieces to this set; buffalo hide, tule mat, elk hide, pillow, fur cover, and shield. Each piece of fur is faux. The pillow is stuffed and the mat is made of thin wood. The shield is made of plastic sticks and a faux leather shield with a painted-on design. Durability: This set would be very durable for children to play with. Playability: Bedding is always nice to play with and children wouldn't have to have the large tepee as they could let Kaya sleep outdoors! Value for the money: This is where I have a slight problem. You could seek out some faux fur pieces at the local craft store and it would be cheaper, but this is still a relatively inexpensive set for bedding. Overall Grade: B+

The only thing that bothers me is that the furs are not double sided. Animal fur is never furry on both sides.

I'm glad I got this set, just got it today along with Tatlo and Travois. Although I don't have Kaya yet, she'll be coming this Christmas, but I think it's a good addition to her collection to have.

I like this set. It is cozy and a good illustration of how different Kaya's world was from a modern girl's. Grade: A
