This set includes a white camisa,her skirtand a red sash.

This set is pretty basic. A crisp white camisa with a very stiff striped skirt and a woven red sash.
In my opinion, this is not the prettiest outfit is Josefina's collection, but it is still very nice.

I enjoy that the print on the skirt is acutally woven in as opposed to printed on. My only issue with this outfit is that the sleeves on the camisa on mine are a bit tight. Overall I give this outfit an A.

I love this! I agree with shiniker in that the woven quality of the skirt is great. It looks just like she and her family might have woven it themselves. The belt sets off the outfit rather well.

The edging on the camisa is very pretty.

My only complaint, which doesn't have much to do with the outfit- why does Josefina have to wear short sleeves all the time? I'm a New Mexican and they are pulling your leg if they think a short sleeved camisa w/ a poncho will keep you warm. You need sleeves! Especially that close to Santa Fe.

I'm quite pleased with this outfit as well. The skirt and shirt fit well on Josefina. The shades of blue and red used look good on her too. But I will give it an A rather than an A+ because the design of the skirt and the shirt are both rather plain.

This outfit was one of my first and most enduring picks for Josefina just because of its simplicity and high quality. Each of the three pieces have not been cheapend by Mattel and very much worth the $22.

The skirt and the sash are very nice, but the camisa is pracrically identical to her Meet camisa. Wouldn't it have made more sense to sell a long-sleeved camisa with it?

This is one of my favorite of Josefina's outfits. I love the simplicity of it and its everyday wear value. The white camisa is simple, much like her meet camisa, but the skirt is a gorgeous blue color and it looks really cute on her, especially with the sash. A from me!

I really like the indigo skirt because it looks like one she would have really worn. It's also the heaviest skirt she owns so in the winter she wears it with her long sleeved camisa from the Harvest Outfit and her boots from the Riding Outfit with her thickest stockings. And, of course, her poncho & black hat.

The stock photos are kinda Blah, so I kept holding off on buying this. But I finally caved and bought it last month, and I'm glad I did. I think this is on my top 3 fave list for Josefina's outfits. It is far more beautiful in person. And the touch of red lent by the sash, truly makes the whole ensemble "pop".

I was, however, very dissapointed by the fact that the skirt was so tight, the velcro wouldn't come together, so this particular specimen got an "F". Fortunately, I can sew, so I unstitched the velcro, moved it over, and now that it fits flawlessly, I can now award it the A+++ it deserves.

The camisa - This is a nice camisa, more simple than the blouse she arrives in. The sleeves are cut so they lay squarely on Josefina's shoulders. When I saw this in the catalog I wasn't a big fan of the lacework around the top, but it's actually quite nice in person - it seems to be mimicking crochet. While this would make a good work camisa, it's too similar to her meet camisa to do me much good. Like the others, I would have preferred a top with long sleeves. A-

The skirt - the skirt is another practical number which is very thick and seems suitable for winter. It earns points for the woven pattern of blue and gray stripes - it's not printed, people! There are only two flaws: the waistband is very tight and the skirt is hard to velcro, and it's really a lot like her meet skirt in a different color. Still, I shall give it an A.

The sash - the sash is nice and woven, not quite as dark as some of the catalog pictures show but still sturdy and well made. Each edge of the sash is finished with threads that are twisted rather than braided, and securely tied at the end. Even if it does make the outfit look sort of patriotic (red and white and blue) it ties the outfit together. No pun intended. B

I love the white lacy edging on Josefina's camisa. It reminds me over her first book, when she is doing laundry with her sisters and washing tons of white camisas. I'm guessing Josefina would probably have had two or three skirts, but several camisas.

I also wish they hadn't changed the name to "School Outfit." Josefina doesn't go to school- her aunt teaches her at home- and "indigo skirt" sounded so magical!

I Just got this outfit before it sold out, and i'm so glad. It's such a staple in Josefina's wardrobe, that it's one of those outfits I figured would always be around. Anyway, I love the whole look of this outfit, and it is an AG outfit that has remained reasonably priced throughout the years.

The camisa is pretty, with unique lacy trim around the collar and cuffs.

The skirt is heavy, woven, and very high quality. Mine is quite loose on my Josefina, but that's good because it leaves room for the camisa.

The sash is dark, and has nice fringe. It's very thick. I had to play around with it a bit to get it to stop coming loose, but I like it.

Gorgeous! My favorite out of Josefina's outfits. The skirt has a very nice texture and does not snag too easily. Very appropriate.

I was impressed with the heavy material used for the skirt and the length of the camisa. The red sash brings the outfit together. Grade: A

I got mine off eBay, and at least the skirt is tagged PM (the seller did claim the whole outfit was PM).

Overall, I like the outfit, though I admit, I am VERY partial to blue (my own wardrobe has a lot of blue and neutrals). The skirt is made of a nice sturdy material, though I agree with an earlier post that it was a bit of a squeeze to fasten the velcro. The blouse is a bit tight on Josefina's shoulders. The sash of course helps finish it off.

I would give it an A-, just due to the blouse issue. Otherwise, it is a simple yet pretty outfit.

I got the Mattel version of this set in 2011. I really love it.

The skirt is nice and thick and fits nicely on my PM Josefina. I love the woven feel of it as well. The blue is a really nice color on her. The camisa is nice and simple. It's thicker than my PM Meet camisa, but not as soft. I do wish they had used a long sleeve one here instead, but this one is nice all the same. It's a bit tight around her chubby arms, but I expected that. The sash is very pretty. I love the color and I love how it looks with the rest of the outfit, but it doesn't tie as well as her meet sash. It seems stiffer, although this might be a PM vs Mattel quality issue.

Overall, I'd give this set a solid A.

I’m not exactly sure when the change(s) occurred, however, as with most items that have been available for more than couple years, there are variations. I don’t have a close-up, but here is a comparison picture of two Indigo Skirt and Camisa/School Outfits. The one on the right was purchased on September 8, 1997 and my daughter’s was purchased in June of 2008.

ETA: Since Josefina was available for less than a year before Mattel purchased Pleasant Company, it’s extremely probable that this change occurred under Mattel (probably in the mid-2000s).

ETA2: It's not very good, but I do have a picture of the camisas.
