Posie the Lamb was introduced in 1992 and retired in 2009. She is associated with the book, Happy Birthday, Felicity!
PC description: Felicity fell in love with the bundle of soft white fluff with big brown eyes that Grandfather brought. Felicity named her "Posie" because the little lamb loved to frolic in the flowers. Posie even has a wreath of of springtime blooms around her neck.
I dont know if the Posie the lamb quality is differnt between Pre-Mattel and Mattel. But the Mattel Posie is not very well made. Yes she is cute but and stressing the BUT here when i opened it first tehre was a piece f fabric hanging off her and I picked it off and it was horrible I was so sad. Can someone please tell me if there is a differnce here curious to know.

I just got Posie last month when she was on sale. I agree that she is very cute, but much lighter than I though she would be.

I'm not sure which one was PM and which not, but I have has two Posie's. One was heavy like a paper weight, and the other had a more hollow lighter body like Licorice. Sorry that I can't be of more help.

I have both and was just looking at them a couple of days ago - there are definite differences. I have one of the first ones issued and one of the last (in terms of the years they were bought). Some differences I noticed: ~in her flower wreath (the first was so delicate and made from very soft fabric, but the second held up much better and looked more like the fake fabric flowers you can find in craft stores now. They are very good quality). ~There are two differences in the original one's ears versus the newer one - the newer one has a crease in the ear (it's folded a tad to make it stand up/out) but the PM one I have the ears are *almost* flat, the crease is much less defined. Also, the older one's ears are much bigger! ~The newer one is soooo soft and fluffy, like cotton and bushy, but the older one is a skinnier version with shorter fur. ~This could just be mine... but the older one's fur is all greyish and the newer one is white (but the even coloring leads me to believe it may have been released this way? It's not *grey* exactly... just a lite greyish tint. ~The eyes of the Mattel version are a dark chocolate brown, while the PM ones appear to be almost a (lighter) brick brown. ~The tails - PM's tail lays down whereas Mattel's tail stands up! ETA - edited for a mix-up from exhaustion! Now the description reads more accurately! (See pics below!) <broken image links removed> Notice the ears and the wreaths<broken image links removed> The PM one looks skinnier when looking head-on<broken image links removed> Tail up - Tail Down<broken image links removed> I knew I was forgetting something! The PM one is the tiniest bit heavier than Mattel but neither ways anything close to what Sombrita weighs! (That's one heavy goat! I guess the sheep are lighter because they're all fluff!... Like me! ) Mod edit to combine consecutive posts

Posie was the first AG pet I got! I love her to this day. She's so soft and realistic looking. I love her wreath too. The girls love her too!

I was recently looking at Posies on eBay. I think she is really cute, but much too small to to look accurate with Felicity.
