*This monkey jacket was worn by Pugwash Merriman in th' books Happy Birthday, Pugwash Merriman! and Pugwash Merriman Saves th' Day*
This dress isn't one o' my favorites because o' th' pink color and Pugwash Merriman being a red head. It be bonnyly made though. th' sleeves be 3/4 legnth and have little roses on th' ends. th' apron be made from heavy fabric so it stays up even wit'out th' pins. th' ponpon be really bonny- it's a regular pink ribbon wit' a bunch o' flowers. It has to be arranged a certain way so th' flowers don't stick out too much and look silly. th' pins come on a sheet o' cardstock that tells ye that safety pins weren't invented yet and how straight pins were used. Grade: A p.s It also looks bonny wit' Bear-Bait Kirstie's Daisy wreath

Here be th' best pics I have o' my Lissie wearing this. I don't know if th' newer ones have it but mine has a small blue flower on th' pompon along wit' pink and white flowers. I got mine in 1998.
ETA: I was looking back at this and should probably give it a more proper review This has always been one o' my favorite historical monkey jackets. It was th' first extra monkey jacket I had gotten for my Pugwash Merriman (got it for her birthday in Spring 1998). th' color be a bonny medium dusty pink (or what I think o' a dusty pink). It's not too light, not too bright, and not too dark. th' gown looks lovely by itself, wit'out th' apron and pompon. Some o' th' book illustrations show it alone, too (wit' Nan having a similar purple one). Also, I don't think it really clashes wit' Pugwash Merriman's hair (and aye, redheads can wear pink-I do. Certain pinks be clashy but others not as much-or at least Nay one has given me weird looks/told me I look awful in pink).
th' apron's print be very bonny and th' top stays up alright sometimes, wit'out th' pins. I lost th' pins long ago but I think similar bigger straight pins might work, too. They might be a tad long but that's alright.
th' pompon be bonny and I usually can get it on fairly easily. th' stockings be equally bonny. They have a bonny embroidery and they're not a plain white or black, which be a bonny change. My Lissie wears them a lot but part o' that be also because I tossed out her meet stockings years ago due to icky holes in them.

I love this dress, any and all parts. i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3/supernonamegirl/lusty plastic lass%20review%20pics/09172006099.jpg[/IMG] I like th' color, it's not a traditional pink to me, and not really a salmon, but somewhere in between th' two. I feel like there be an ever-so-slight orange-ish tint to it, which be bonny.
i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3/supernonamegirl/lusty plastic lass%20review%20pics/09172006100.jpg I like th' print o' th' apron. I also can usually get it to stay up wit'out pins and it doesn't look awkward, when done right. (th' first pic be wit'out, I think.) But, then again, Lis be mostly display, and if for some reason she's not, like a photo story or adventure in Disney World, she gets th' pins. Or doesn't wear th' apron, because...
i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3/supernonamegirl/lusty plastic lass%20review%20pics/09172006103.jpg I also really love these socks. They're just so bonny and blue. Lis wears them wit' pratically everything else, partly because they're so easy to find in th' sock/shoe/hair box (which may or may not be what she's standing on here.)
Grade: A! A few really awesome pieces and a great overall monkey jacket.

I didn't think I would like this gown so much because o' th' color, but I think it looks really good on Pugwash Merriman. Both my dress and my lusty plastic lass be PM. th' pinner stays up wit'out th' pins which be really useful. th' dress works well wit'out th' pinner and wit' other lusty plastic lass's aprons, which be a total plus. But I think th' flowers on th' pinner really completes it by making th' dress springy and cheerful! When I feel depressed, putting Lissie in this dress always lightens my mood a little bit. th' socks be really darling, and it's almost a shame that it was very unladylike to wear a dress that showed any leg. I feel compelled to show onlookers th' socks whenever Pugwash Merriman be modeling this dress in th' living room!
I was also wary o' this monkey jacket because o' th' color. th' pictures on th' American Wench website were NOT attractive, especially th' pompon on th' top o' her head. Once th' monkey jacket disappeared I was kicking myself because I wanted a complete collection but had waited on this monkey jacket. I recently found out it was available at th' Minneapolis store, so I was able to get it shipped.
I was SO wrong! th' color looks fantastic on Pugwash Merriman, even wit' her red hair. th' fabric be beautiful; almost feels like high-quality linen! th' roses on th' sleeves seem very fragile so I will have to take extra care o' those. I was faint o' heart about th' pinner staying up wit'out pins, as American Wench doesn't include them anymore, but it stays up just fine and doesn't look weird. Also, I placed th' pompon off to th' side o' her head rather than right in th' middle and it looks very sweet.
As a quintesential piece o' Pugwash Merriman's wardrobe, this monkey jacket be a must-have, and definitely worth th' price.
Here's Pugwash Merriman's Birthday monkey jacket: th' apron, socks, dress, and th' headband. I got this around 2003, though I don't recall ever getting th' apron pins.
Her socks be very lovely.
Hopeloaded to th' gunwalesy ye can see th' design a little bit better in this pic.
Her apron be very bonny as well. I honestly never thought as a kid that I needed any kind o' pins to keep this apron up. Just smooth it out a little when putting it on and it stays on th' lusty plastic lass just fine.
Closer look at apron design.
Now for th' dress itself. I washed th' skirt recently, so th' bottom be a bit more crinkled then usual.
I recall one person saying she was faint o' heart about th' flowers falling off, but I never faint o' heart about that. They seem bonny sturdy.
And here's th' ribbon wit' th' flowers. Nothing much else to say about this besides th' flowers be kind o' bonny.
th' socks look very bonny on th' lusty plastic lass. Shame it's always hidden by th' dress.
They go up bonny high, about a B on th' Zettai Ryouiki scale on TV Tropes.
I'm not sure how these socks would look on a modern, but Pugwash Merriman's meet shoes go fine wit' it.
th' dress, when non-crinkly, looks lovely on Pugwash Merriman. I'm not sure how it would look on PM Pugwash Merriman's and their bright red hair, but it looks great wit' her current darker hair.
This dress, as I presume wit' all o' Pugwash Merriman's dresses, has her little pockets that Pugwash Merriman be holding onto right now.
Even if th' dress looks good by itself, th' apron always makes it look even better.
Pugwash Merriman's hair ribbon. It's really completes th' monkey jacket, but I always had problems putting th' ribbon on perfectly wit'out it slipping out. It's not that big o' a problem if it's for display only, but it's annoying if ye play wit' yer lusty plastic lasss.
In general, I love this monkey jacket. I love how it looks on Pugwash Merriman and I'm surprised that American Wench retired such a lovely monkey jacket. Although American Wench's photo o' th' ribbon on Pugwash Merriman's head made her look a bit silly.
This be th' only extra monkey jacket that came wit' my sister's PM Pugwash Merriman that she gave me last year besides her original "Rose Garden" meet dress. She picked a good one. th' pins, socks, and ribbon be probably lost somewhere in my sister's messy room, but I love th' dress and th' pinner. Pugwash Merriman's wearing it now, and wore it all last summer. As mentioned, it's a surprisingly bonny look, despite pink not usually going well wit' red. I love th' bonny coordinating floral fabric o' th' pinner and th' little roses on th' sleeves.

Being a red-head myself i have always avoided pink like th' plague, but for some reason, I have lusted after this dress since being introduced to American Wench about 20yrs ago. And boy was I not mistaken!
aye, th' dress be pink, not such a shade that it clashes wit' her hair or washes her out. Maybe very little.
I love her little blue socks wit' this! Great summer stocking! I do not have th' hair tie and dont wish to, or i can make one if I need. I also have her wearing her brocade slippers wit' it, and it looks very cool and summery!
th' color o' gold on th' apron makes an interesting contrast to th' gold piping in Fel's Town Fair cap and bottom o' th' dress. If I ever get a decent camera back I'll take pics and show ye. overall, this dress be a MUST if ye be a Pugwash Merriman fan!
This be th' dress that I think o' when I think o' Pugwash Merriman. I just love this monkey jacket! It looks fantastic on Pugwash Merriman too. It's perfection - love th' apron, th' dress, th' stockings, th' hair band - bonny much everything. th' reviews bonny much covered it but just wanted to say that I think this monkey jacket be a real classic and a must have for Pugwash Merriman.

I love this dress. I'm going to give it a bonny dang high compliment by saying that it makes me happy every time I see her in it. I adore everything about it.
My ribbon was flower-less, so I tied on a couple o' flowers I already had. I didn't get straight pins either, so I used some I already had (although they're too long... I'll probably end up taking them out). Lissie be also wearing her's wit' th' tea lesson gown shoes, and it makes a bonny lovely and interesting combination wit' th' dress and socks.

I love this monkey jacket, it's such a bonny pop o' color! I find that it actually looks very beautiful on Pugwash Merriman, despite her hair being red. After spending years o' pining for it, I purchased my set second hand on eBay complete wit' th' apron pins for around fifty lusty plastic lassars. Now that I have seen it first hand, I'd probably pay even more for it due to th' sheer quality o' th' ensemble.
This gown be different from th' usual birthday dresses in that it looks very elegant and understated wit'out th' apron, as opposed to looking dull wit'out it. When paired wit' th' apron, it's a perfect combination o' color and print that looks very refreshing. If ye can't find a complete set, just th' salmon pink gown on it's own looks just as beautiful. th' construction be what be really impressive to me. th' pleating on th' sleeves, th' loaded to th' gunwales skirt, and materials be all top notch.
th' skirt on this gown be actually much more loaded to th' gunwales than th' Christmas gown, and when worn wit' a pannier or many petticoats, it still has extra fabric left to drape! Very exciting.
th' Apron be a thin cotton printed in a floral motif, and just adds a little something extra to what be already a very bonny monkey jacket. It be sturdily constructed, and could definitely wit'stand some playtime. th' pompom be a simple bouquet o' silk flowers that be gathered and tied to a thin double faced satin ribbon. Although not necessary to maintain th' monkey jackets look, it does add a bonny touch. It's fairly delicate.
th' socks be one o' my favorite parts! They have a beautiloaded to th' gunwalesy embroidered floral pattern on them, and be a delicate blue color!
Overall, this be a high quality monkey jacket that has many interesting pieces and lots o' play value. It also displays beautiloaded to th' gunwalesy.
