On with the review! The set includes: 1 pocket 1 pair of pocket hoops 1 stays Everything attaches with ties no Velcro and it took a little puzzling to figure out what went where and how. I can't imagine having to wear all of that every day I put the set on Elizabeth and she can wear both her green summer dress and her pink meet dress just fine. The details are amazing, the little pocket has stitching on it and there are slits in each of the pocket hoops so Elizabeth er Felicity could reach through them into her pocket. The set came with the new AG trading cards instead of the little booklet. It had three cards, one each for Lissie's undergarments,muff/mitt/pattens and shoe/sock set. Grade: A

I love these, but my poor PM Lissie has trouble fitting into some of her dresses with everything on. She does it, though! I stuffed the stays with tissue paper because they kept scrunching up. It makes Lissie sound very crinkly but it looks great for displaying. View from the front: And from the back:

this set makes my Felicity really stand out in her clothes and all the outfits look better with the skirt fullness. My set just came in today and I have no complaints about it. A+

Just got these and love them! They are very high quality with lots of details. I didn't have any trouble getting them on Elizabeth, and she looks great! I've only tried them on with her holiday dress so far and they make it look really good.

I absolutely adore this set. It's so tiny and perfect! The only thing is that none of Felicity (or Elizabeth's) gowns would be appropriate over the pocket hoops! But, it's still adorable, and I'll just have to make a proper gown that goes with hoops!

The pocket hoops are meant to go under Felicity's Christmas dress. The stays lace up in a zig zag pattern. You knot them at one end, thread them through the holes and and tie at the top. The pocket hoops tie in front with the pockets hanging down and the slits over her pocket. The stays help Felicity or Elizabeth keep perfect posture and give her dresses a nice fit and a flat front. Here's a picture of how the stays should be laced.

Found an old image of Felicity wearing her corset and pocket that I thought I'd share here: I only rarely put the hoops on her, as I think they are too fancy for every day dress. When she does wear them, I stuff each pocket with tissue to make them stand out more under her gown because as others have noted, they are at risk of collapsing otherwise. This is a wonderful set, and well worth hunting down on the secondary market for your colonial girls.

A++ for this set. Well, I took the plunge- I bought this full set on eBay. It's from 1992. The price wasn't that bad. Seems a lot of others are up for sale, price goes down with competition.
The workmanship is wonderful. The tiny stays are perfect. The cloth is a heavy muslin. The stays feel like they are plastic. I really appreciate the PC for the amount of detail they used in the original pieces. The pocket has very fine embroidery with a single thread. The colors are nice and sharp. The corset has tiny stays and the sewing of the garment is perfection. Very well put together. The hoops are tremendous, in terms of the sewing. Again, the stays and the placement are rendered quite well. I was going to use these as a diagram for sewing a set from the patterns. But, I seriously don't think I can do as well. Worth the price for either doll. Will make an outfit...in terms of it being realistic and fitting well.

I have both a PM and a Mattel set. With the exception of a slight color variation, the sets are pretty much the same and the PM one doesn’t seem to be any larger than the newer one. Therefore, the PM versions fit the Mattel dolls and can be tied or laced as tightly as you’d like. After playing around with both undergarment sets and a few of Felicity’s outfits (all PM), the undergarments do seem to prevent Elizabeth from drowning in some of Felicity’s older clothes. On the flipside, the stays also seem to help some of my older dolls get into a few of the less generously cut outfits.

On th' flipside, th' stays also seem to help some o' my older lusty plastic lasses get into a few o' th' less generously cut outfits. This. I have the Mattel undergarments but a PM doll. Apart from Lissie's Christmas dress that I got with her, most of her outfits are the Mattel versions: the stays come in handy to help her squeeze into the clothes that might otherwise not do up.

A+ This set is so incredibly well made. Mine are Mattel made, however, I purchased these on eBay, so I am unaware of when they were made. I paid alot more than retail for this set, and it was totally worth it. They literally make the difference. The corset is very well made. I was expecting it to be a chep fabric vest that laced up, however, it is an incredibly firm, sturdy, functional pair of stays! It isn't boned, however, it has a very firm lining inside of it that makes it incredibly strong. This would definitely work on a people sized version. The pocket Is beautiful. I don't really think it does much other than look pretty, but the embroidery work on it is absolutely stunning. it's so pretty that you almost wish it wasn't a part of her undergarments! The hoops are my favorite part of the set. They are identical to a particular style of panniers of the period. They have three boned channels going down each pocket, and slits for you to hide things inside of them. Very accurate. The hoops literally work wonders on the way the dresses hang. The difference is night and day. Just so you can see a comparison of how well the hoops change the look of her clothes, I took these photos: Without the panniers. And with. It makes a huge change, which is perfect for her fancy dresses like the ball gown and spring gown. The work that went into making this set must have been daunting, as it is incredibly detailed. The historical accuracy is dead on, and it is well made.
