Doll-Mattel A+
Mattel Felicitys are quite different from Pre-Mattel Felicitys. Their hair color is more of an auburn than a true red, at least my daughter is. She was purchased in 2004. Her eyes are the same "spoke" version found in the Pre-Mattel versions, but her face is smaller and less round than the Pre-Mattels. Also, her face colorings seems to be a shade darker than the Pre-Mattel Felicitys. Her meet dress in 2004 was the rose dress. It differs from the Pre-Mattel version in that the roses are smaller and they appear sharper on the fabric. Felicity's current meet dress is the old Lilac Traveling Gown. Still a gorgeous doll and well made.

Thank you for mentioning that her eye color is the same as the PM version. Though my Felicity is Mattel (bought her in 2004), I have a very PM green eyed AGT doll, purchased in 1996, whose eyes are the *exact* same color. The only difference being that Lissie has black eyelashes, and my AGT has auburn eyelashes. I think the dark eyelashes is enough to make the eyes look brighter, when her hair color is so light. I'm not saying that's true of all the green eyed dolls, but it's certainly true of mine.
I think I'd give Mattel Lissie a B+ or A-. I think it's hard to rate any doll, given that *your* doll is going to have special meaning to you, and will be prettier to you than others may find her. I think those who have a PM Lissie will definitely find M Lissie less pretty, with her auburn hair. Honestly, as a huge fan of red hair, I'm not fond of the PM red color, it's too pink, but I find the M red too brown. I think both are ok colors, and I would have a hard time picking which I like better. I will say that the M eyelashes look bad with the auburn haired Felicity, and wish she had lighter eyelashes. That's my main complaint.

You can really tell that Mattel Lissies are different from PM, but I think they are all beautiful in their own way. I actually love the more auburn color red of my Mattel Lissie. It's actually the color I have always fantasized about having myself. I do wish her green eyes were not quite so bright, since eyes that color are very rarely found in real life. I also wish Felicity still came in the Rose Garden dress rather than the Lilac Traveling gown. I just do not like that gown very much at all. I will give the Mattel Felicity a solid A though because she really has become my favorite doll.

Ah, my first post here! I hope I'm doing this right... Felicity is a beautiful doll. I was pretty excited when she arrived, since she was my first historical doll. Her hair is a very pretty red, and her eyes are...very, very green. Almost hypnotic. =P I've had her for about two years now, and she's still as good as new. A wonderful addition to my growing collection! A+

Lissie is stunning with her green eyes and pretty hair - this gown does her more justice than the purple traveling gown. Her hair is very silky and easy to take care of. Unlike other dolls (cough, cough, Kaya).

I just got my Felicity from e-bay NIB. She is absolutely beautiful! I recently in the past couple of years have fallen in love with her stories so naturally I had to find a Lissie of my own! I couldn't have found a prettier one in my opinion. I give her an A+++
