This set included a needlework frame, preprinted sampler muslin, instruction booklet, needle, coloured threads, doll and girl thimbles. I've never tried to do the sampler and have only used the set for display, either on the clothes press or in front of Felicity so it looks like she's working on it. A+ The needlework frame is made of dark wood and matches Felicity's furniture. It has the frame and embroidery hoop with a spool for thread under the hoop and storage boxes with hinged lids at either end. The sampler muslin has the pattern printed on it for easy stitching. Since I know my skills aren't up to the challenge I've left mine in the plastic it came in to keep it from getting dirty and display it in the hoop. The instruction booklet I'll have to get out and look at to give a review, I know I've looked at it but I can't for the life of me remember anything about it. The needle is a needle and the threads are basic embroidery floss in the colours needed to make the sampler and the girl thimble I've never bothered to unwrap since there is no way it will fit me. The doll thimble is an adorable miniature thimble that actually fits on Felicity's finger.

Colonial Rose described this set well. For now, it is a display piece since my daughter is not yet ready to embroider the sampler. But is a wonderful set, and I agree that it deserves an A+. It represents the best of Pleasant Company's "doing" accessories for the historical dolls. Some photos:

This photo makes me smile whenever I see it, so I wanted to add it here. Something about that little Dolly thimble is so sweet!

The sampler is 4 3/4" wide and 5 1/4" long. The design is 2 13/16" wide and 3" long. The hoop is 3 1/4" diamater at its widest part.
Does anyone have a measurement on the needle? (I know it is probably difficult to find one that small anyway, but you never know).

The needle wasn't a tiny doll sized one. It was a normal needle for a girl to use to embroider the sampler.

For reference, here are the DMC thread matches to Felicity's embroidery floss. (Keep in mind that I bought Felicity's Needlework accessory set used, and I am going by what was included therein, but the floss also match the screened colors on the unstitched sampler, so I am confident that they are correct)
Coral: DMC 351 Blue: DMC 813 Red: DMC 326 Lt Green: DMC 164 Dk Green: DMC 890 Black: DMC 310
The lighter green floss I have is different in color than the light green floss shown here. My guess is that the floss colors changed over time. The 2 different sets I have contain the same color of green.

How long were the lengths in the original set? TIA The lengths are about 1 yard, each. I have 2 lengths of light green, and 2 of light blue, 1 each of the other colors in the bundle. (why 2 lengths of light green, I don't know, the sampler clearly doesn't have much of that color). It was an enjoyable mission; glad to help!

I was just wondering if the thimbles have always had the same look or did they change at one point? I purchased a set second hand and the girl sized thimble is gold but does not have the matching pattern that the doll sized thimble has (the repeating fish-like symbol). I just assumed that maybe it was an earlier version that did not have the pattern on it but now I'm wondering if it's not legit. I don't even know where you could purchase a knock off though. Can anyone help? It's probably legit. I just dug put my old set from when I was a child (the first version when Felicity just came out) and the child's thimble doesn't have the fish pattern either. Unless we lost it and replaced it with another but I am pretty sure it's original.

I received my set about 15 years ago for Christmas and just dug it out to check on the thimbles and the child's one has the repeating fish symbol. Was 1995 or 1996 around when Felicity first came out?? I'm getting forgetful in my old age, haha! Hope I could help!!

Can anyone post a size (height) for the doll thimble? Thanks!

Using a regular metal tape measure, the doll thimble is just a hair above the 1/4" mark, both in height and diameter. You could get more exact with a more detailed measuring device, though.
