I don't have Addy (yet), but I bought this one for Kirsten.
The Good: It's so pretty in person, the color is gorgeous, and the details are nice. The hair ribbon is nice, as well. Extra bonus is how pretty (and accurate) it looks on Kirsten, as well as Addy.
The Bad: The flowers are dinky, and ugly. They should have, at least, lowered the price when they stopped including the kite. It's also a bit on the thin side.
Rating: ****1/2, A-

I love this dress. It's lightweight and summery. The color blue is a muted sort of blue with black accents. The sleeves also have tucks. The skirt is pleated an shows a peek at Addy's drawers underneath. The skirt is not full enough to support her crinoline but I think it should be poofier. The sleeves actually fit nicely on my PM Addy and I can easily velcro up the back without squishing her in Felicity's stays. The dress comes with a black and white checked taffeta ribbon, which is stiff and awkward to tie. The dress is so pretty! Here are some close ups of the kite. The kite is nice- the fabirc part is real fabric but the wood parts are plastic. The string is coated wire with a rubber holder so Addy can hold the kite and it looks like it is flying. Overall grade: A- More of the kite

It's a cute outfit and I picked up the kite separately but the flowers are identical to the flowers in her Birthday Treats set.

I bought the kite separately on EBay and the flower picking outfit from AG. The kite is terrific and actually is able to be held by a doll- I wasn't sure it wouyld work. Grade A for the kite. So I can rate the flower picking outfit which was the set I actually purchased. Not impressed with the left over flowers from the birthday treats sets used by AG to create this set. I use the flowers in the milk bottle with the birthday treat ones and have quite a large bouquet on the table. I am surprised and none to pleased at how thin the material of the dress is. Overall- I wasn't too impressed with this set. I would rate it a B-. But I'm grateful for anything close to new for Addy! i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn44/smkukla/Addys%20House/IMG_0315.jpg

This dress is stunning and actually looks good on any doll! Its very soft and has a soft blue color. It truly resembles what a summer dress should look like. I recommend anyone getting it even if you don't have Addy!
A+

I really like this dress. I was able to get it through the warehouse truckload sale, so I didn't pay much. :-) It's a gorgeous blue color, and the little tucks are very sweet. It did surprise me on how wide the neckline was. I guess I had never realized in photos. I got used to it though - and it is one of my favorite dresses to put on any doll. I like the hair ribbon, too. It's a fun pattern to match with the dress.

I love this dress. The color is prefect for spring and looks lovely on Addy, as well as man other dolls (Kirsten or any blue or grey eyed JLY all spring to mind). The material is light... it's thin enough to feel like an actual springtime dress, but it doesn't feel cheap to me. The plaid hair ribbon is lovely... it matches her black and white boots, which is nice.
I got this quite recently, so it came with neither kite nor flowers, although I'm hoping to get the kite.
Overall, I'd give this an A-, would be a solid A with flowers, A+ with kite.

After taking to heart some of the words on this forum, I decided that this should be my first Mattel purchase. I purchased it at AGPNY.
I like the light and summery feel to the dress and it uses enough fabric that chunky PM girls can wear it without being squished. I agree with Alice about this dress being thin, but not cheap. The only thing I don't like about it is that the cut shows Addy's neckstrings. My Addy generally wears her hair up, so this is an issue for me. Overall quality - B; Style/look on Addy - B+

My lindsey never wears this, it isn't her style, but she looks good in it. I love this dress, I bought it even before I had Addy.

I want to like you, oh Kite Flying Dress, but I think you are too short and too tight for Addy to wear comfortably. You need to go in Mama's sewing basket so your growth tucks can be let down. The dress is great in concept, but not very consistently executed. The kite is definitely twee and I love it very much, but that plastic handle has stretched out over the years. I would bet that the kite was the source of a fair number of complaints to CS. It seems like even the most ordinary play moving the kite around might cause it to snap off. I would not be surprised if it was discontinued for that reason alone. It remains one of the most ingenious accessories created for the dolls, despite being somewhat fragile. I like the fabric and weight of the summer dress. It is meant to be light and airy and thin. But it ought to fit better, and needs to be longer. Grade is B for poor fit and fragility of accessory. Amazing details!

Just to interject on these wonderful reviews, stock photos show the kite-flying outfit to be purple (to me, anyway), but all of the reviews here have a blue dress that is closer to the stock photo for the flower-picking outfit. Are these two dresses the same, with a swapped-out kite for flowers, or was the kite outfit indeed purple? Thanks! The dresses are identical. The only difference is kite versus flowers (or nothing at all). My review is for the kite flying dress.

Susanna has a tough time holding the kite and getting it to fly right but Addy seems to have the knack for it! Dress in natural light Kite Kite handle

Here is Annie in the most modern version I could make it. I think it works very well, and it's sooooooo pretty, it doesn't even matter if you collect for historicals or not!

Is this dress a bit "thinner" material than others? It almost looks a little see-through in some of the pics. I, too, love this dress! The color and cut is amazing! Byudawn - yes it is quite thin. But it doesn't feel flimsy at all. It' probably the favorite of all of the dresses we have.

I had the distinction of having both a Flower Picking and Kite Flying dress at the same time, so I thought I'd get a picture. The Kite Flying is on the left and Flower Picking on the right. There is a discernible, although slight difference in the shades. I took it around the house to confirm in different light and it really is there, not my imagination! It definitely is just a difference in lots of fabric though, not worth having both. The Flower Picking looks more precise, but I prefer the Kite Flying of the two I had.

I honestly think this is one of the prettiest dresses AG has ever made. To me, it feels quite delicate and I'm always extra careful when handling it, but one of the bristles on the hairbrush I was using to comb Josefina's hair got caught on the dress and snagged it. So um, yeah, be careful when your doll's wearing this dress and brushing her hair. I feel like the ribbon never lays right on the doll's hair, but that's a minor thing. The flowers are okay, but the bouquet feels tiny, so I bunch them together with the flowers from Addy's ice cream set to make a fuller bouquet. I know it's a summery dress and probably wouldn't be used with a crinoline, but I can't resist adding extra poofiness to everything, so here's Josefina wearing it with the NOLA crinoline and her winter petticoat. For appearance only, the dress is a definite A, but the delicate nature of the fabric brings my grade down to a B.

This one was sold as the flower-picking dress (I guess that's obvious since it's pictured with flowers!).
