This outfit is worn by Addy in the book Happy Birthday, Addy! Released in 1994, retired in 2013.The day Addy chose as her birthday was a special one, and so was the outfit she wore to celebrate! Dress Addy up in her best ecru blouse with double puffed sleeves, rickrack trim, and a trio of tiny buttons. Add the chocolate-and-cream-checked pinafore and fancy knit stockings. For a finishing touch, tuck her hair back in a fashionable snood trimmed with a satin ribbon and two yellow feathers, compliments of Sunny!I love this dress. The brown checks go nicely with her skin tone. It is made from a textured type material- not plain cotton. The blouse is nicely detailed with rick rack trim, little tiny (faux) buttons and two rows of slight puffs. The pinafore has tiny triangular pockets. The snood is very nice but tricky to get on. My mom figured out that you have to put it on Addy's head and then tuck her hair underneath. Kristen's two-tone boots look good with this dress. Grade: A

I think this dress is so cute, though it's not my favorite one on Addy, for some reason I don't like the color as much as some of her other dresses on her, but the dress itself is lovely. Overall I give this dress an A+.

This is actually one of my favorite dresses ever. I think it looks fantastic on Addy, and is well worth the price. The snood is one of my favorite accessories ever, but I also wear snoods a lot myself, especially for ren fairs, so it's fun to have one for the dolls. Full Body. The boots are actually Heidi Ott boots. i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3/supernonamegirl/doll%20review%20pics/09172006129.jpgThese are actually some of my favorite socks. I like the pattern, and they're nice quality. i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3/supernonamegirl/doll%20review%20pics/09172006128-1.jpgMore detailed pic of dress. I like the double-puffed sleeve. Notice also, the bit of snood on the top. Worn properly, it should drop down a bit on the bottom and cover the hairline from the back of one ear to other, but the top should be flat, and pulled off the hairline, at least a quarter of the way, but a bit more is generally fine. It is a bit stiff, so it doesn't do it easily, but some careful smooshing and fiddling should work.

A+++
Once again, Addy's dresses turn out to be the BEST and so practical and cute! This dress is great quality! The snood is probably one of my favorite things. It is really well made and you can put it with any of the other outfits. The socks are also really cute. I love the design with the checks, buttons, and the other little details. It's just so adorable!

This is another of my favorite outfits. I love that brown plaid and think it is very practical but also flattering for a young girl. The detailing on the blouse makes me swoon with happiness. The snood is also a wonderful addition and actually, I wish that more of Addy's outfits came with snoods. Fortunately, doll wig hair nets do the job just as well. My only quibble with this dress is that the skirt is not cut generously enough to fit Addy's petticoat underneath, which is actually a fairly common problem for her wardrobe. We make do with another non-AG white petticoat. Grade A, would buy again. For placement reference, a photo of a girl from 1865 wearing a snood: It, uhm, helps to have unwashed hair....

Wonderful outfit! This looks so sweet on Addy, and I think it looks even better in person than it does in pics. The colors really flatter Addy, but I could see this looking good on quite a few dolls. I like that the material the dress is made from is really good for spring... it's thick enough to protect against a little wind but not so thick that it'd be impractical on a warmer day.
Another A.

My Addy's version of this dress has an uneven skirt that bugs the heck out of me. In theory I love the snood, but I can never get it to lay properly. Sigh, I still consider my relationship with this dress a work in progress... ETA: Since the discovery of that modern marvel, the bobby pin, fitting the snood on Addy is no longer a struggle. I replaced Addy's dress with a new, evenly hemmed one, from AGPLA this summer. I was still was not happy with the length (this is one time when I want an outfit to look like the catalog! I love this dress in the catalog!) So, work continues, here is the newest incarnation. She is actually wearing 2 skirts at once:

Of all the PM dresses, this is my third favorite for Addy. The cream color looks really nice on her and the textures of the pinafore and blouse are really a nice touch. I love the pattern on the socks, and the snood with the canary feathers tops it off perfectly.

Just got this outfit and it looks great on Addy. Great color choices for her rich skin tone and the snood is a perfect accessory. Love it!

Love, love, love this dress. I got it in 2007 and it is definitely one of my favorite dresses. It not only looks great on Addy but other dolls too--I love the way it looks on Felicity and Kit. It reminds of a "fall" dress. A+ from me!

This dress is stunning in its simplicity. I love that it is brown and cream. The blouse is so sweet with its double puffed sleeves and brown waved lacet braid is lovely. i love the pinafore design with the shoulder ties and the piece across the front.

Out of all the historical girls, I would say Addy's outfits in particular are the most important to her story. Because of this, I wanted to hunt down the outfits that were really showcased in her books. That brings us to the beautiful Birthday Pinafore and Snood. I bought mine direct from AG during the Mattel era sometime before they retired it in 2013. It is a really lovely outfit. I love the details of the gingham and rick rack together. I also really like the colors, it's a mix of light brown and tan, yet doesn't look dull or washed out. I have this on my Beforever Addy and it actually fits her quite well! I would look for a Mattel version if buying for the newer, slimmer dolls. For the snood, I really appreciate that the snood is easily able to go over/on her meet hairstyle without ruining the hairdo. I agree that some glue is visible on the bird feathers, but this is a minor detail that doesn't stop me from enjoying the outfit as a whole, and I appreciate the pops of yellow. The socks are also a cute pattern and match the colors of the outfit very well. I would give this outfit an A. It's a really solid piece that Addy looks very beautiful in. https://www.instagram.com/p/CwDcJIbLsTC
