Very very cute! The little yellow bird is just darling! She sits perched in a metal black birdcage. You can unlatch the cage door open and close if you wish. The bird cannot be taken out though. This set also comes with a pretty flowered tin box filled with beene candy and a sweet note from M'Dear. It is accented with a yellow ribbon. For some reason I thought the candy box was ceramic from the website and never bothered to read if it was ceramic or tin. It is still so precious though! Grade: A+ PHOTOS

Much as I love Addy, I'd give Sunny a D+. Everyone else gets dogs and cats and horses and Addy gets . . . a bird. A bird that doesn't even belong to her in the story and could be purchased at a craft store, probably for less than a dollar.
The candy and the tin is really cute, but not worth the full price.

I recently bought this set and with the code, it was worth the price IMO. My daughter loves to play with the candy tin. Before I bought this I always wondered about the size of it in comparison to Addy so I took this picture for those who would like to see it.

My dolls are used primarily for display and Addy very much enjoys it when Sunny comes to sit on the table next to her. When new, Sunny had a twist tie securing her to the front of the cage and I carefully saved it for future transportation as her tail seems VERY delicate. This was confirmed when I ended up with a spare Sunny as part of a collection I purchased where the tail was indeed broken off. This is definitely something to look at when purchasing on the secondary market (or if planning to send the set through the mail.) Also, something to consider if giving the set to a younger child to play with. I would give this set an A for display, B- for play value.

I'm surprised at the negative reviews! This is my favorite Addy accessory and probably my favorite historical accessory. A couple of months ago I was fortunate enough to buy a PC mint in the box (everything was still in the little plastic bags) set for the original price of $16. Sunny is so cute and the and the cage are high quality. I like that the perch really swings. The tin of candy is really nice too and I like that the candy is in individual pieces (wouldn't have liked one of the newer versions as much). I'm sure I would have loved playing with this set as a kid, but I've always loved birds so don't think a pet bird is inferior at all And Sunny in the story is so sweet. My grade: A!

Just purchased Sunny on ebay, second hand for Lanie. I think the cage is very nice quality and it is so cute, one of my favorite accessories.

This is one set I was dying to get and was so surprised when I got it at a really good price. Love the bird! Love the sweets! A+ for sure though its not for small children who loose things. (the little candies inside are very small)
