This outfit is worn by Addy in the short story "Addy's Summer Place." Released in 2003, retired in 2005.
Momma sewed this pink dress for Addy to wear on her first simmer vacation ever—a train trip to Cape Island, New Jersey, to visit Poppa. With her new curls tied up in a pretty hairbow, Addy feels grown-up indeed!
I give this an A. Very cute dress. Just wish it came with stockings or an accessory or something.

I guess my post didn't go through! Can someone tell me the story of the cape island dress? Is it from a short story or something? It is from the short story Addy's Summer Place and is her first "Grown up" dress made by Momma. The fabric on this dress is thick, but the trim on the bottom doesn't go all the way around. The sleeves are very tight and the first dress I ordered didn't fit my 1993 German Addy at all! I exchanged it for another one and that one fit a little better, but she really a corset to make the dress fit better. Grade: B

I got this yesterday and I love it! The fabric is lovely and is wonderfully designed. I just wish the black pattern went all the way around. A

I have this outfit and like it. I love the colors. My only issue is with the pleats, which seem to have been messed up with mine. It is like the pleat panel of fabric is too long for the bodice piece. Pressing might fix it, but I have to wait to get a new iron to try that. But honestly, pulling the skirt down doesn't help, and the bodice is fully extended, and I feel like it is a flaw on my particular dress.

I agree that the pleats are annoying with their tendency to bunch up. Almost everything else about this dress is wonderful. I love the soft coral color and the heaviness of the fabric. It is summery without being flimsy. I do find it unfortunate that the Greek key scrollwork was not continued all the way around the dress. It looks awkward. This is one of the few dresses that Addy can wear her cage crinoline under without any difficulty. It gives a great shape to the dress. Grade: B+ with points deducted for bunchy pleats and incomplete trim. I'd love to put Addy's hair in sausage curls as in the illustration from her book, but the curls never last for long!

I saw the hairbow used as a sash on a little girl's Addy and it looked beautiful. It gave the dress a different look, for those Addys who aren't strictly 1864 girls.

This dress is beautiful! I'm not a "pink" person, but this dress is a gorgeous shade of pink. Love the colors on the hairbow. The only thing is that this dress is a wee bit snug, especially in the arms (as qnpoohbear noted). I managed to put it on my Josefina (of unknown vintage, but I believe she is PM) and had to very carefully shimmy the sleeves up her arms. I'm not sure this would fit on my sister's PM Addy. I've been collecting Addy stuff to complete my sister's collection, which she hopes to pass down to a future daughter, but I like this dress so much I may keep just this one for myself.

I think the pleat panel is too long for the bodice. Aside from that, and the trim which I didn't really think about before now, its is on of my favorite dresses for Addy. Grade: A

Absolutely stunning , easily the prettiest outfit for addy ag ever created. Me personally , i like the bunching of the pleats , i think its cute and it makes addy look a teensy bit fuller in the chest area , which to me makes her seem more real . My addy is pm , so the sleeves are a bit tight , but otherwise its perfect , and the tightness isnt too bad. I'd grade this a easy A+

Looks great when worn with Addy's hoops: Another ribbon pic to show versatility:

I don't have images of it, but when I put Addy in these, I usually curl her hair like mentioned in the story so it resembles Cécile's. It really brings out the beautiful dress color, making it one of my Addy favorites.

I have always wanted this dress but it the secondary market prices have kept it out of my price range. I found it today at a local antique store for $20! I love the dress! The weight of the cotton is really nice, heavy without being too heavy. The black accents are wonderful. Like others mentioned above, I wish the pattern on the skirt went all the way around. Addy looks wonderful in this dress. My PM Addy's arms almost didn't go into the sleeves. That would have been a big disappointment. They just barely fit and it's a good thing she isn't real or else her circulation would be cut off. I hate to give this grade but I'll put it at an A. I took off for sleeve tightness and the unfortunate decision to not have the design go all the way around the skirt. It should really have been a B, but I gave it an A because I have wanted it for years and to get it at below retail price was amazing (of course, no hair bow, but I can live without that).

I debated on adding this one to my collection before prices went through the roof. the dress is a lovely shade and I love the Greek key design. It bothers me immensely that it doesn't go all the way around the dress. I will purchase from an Etsy seamstress who makes the braiding all the way around for a whole lot less money. Now I'm glad I didn't buy it back then.
