Released in 1986, retired at archival in 2009.What would Christmas be without a doll? Kirsten loved Sari, the rag doll she brought all the way from Sweden. Since dolls were handmade in Kirsten’s time, Sari’s dear face is hand-stitched. A tiny five-inch doll for Kirsten and you to treasure.I just love Sari! She looks like Kirsten with yarn hair in looped braids and blue eyes. She looks hand made, like a real rag doll from this period. Her dress is very pretty and underneath she has pink calico legs. Kirsten just loves her doll and has loved Sari almost to death! Grade: ***** A+ Note: This Sari is from 1988

Every picture of Sari that I've seen looks different. I think it's neat that they don't all look the same. I got mine off ebay more than a year ago, but have no idea if she's PM or not. Sometime I'll post a pic. Mine has a chubbier face, but she's still adorable. :-)

Sari is so adorable! I love how they all seem to be different. Mine is PM, I believe (I got it off eBay). The newer ones in AGP looked different as well. Anyway, I give Sari an A.

I have the current Sari. She's absolutely beautiful. I love how she is modeled to have socks and pantalettes. Her braids are made so well. The calico prints are adorable. The face is so cute. A+

I got Sari when I went to AGPNY in May. She's such a sweet little doll. My mom has a kit to make a rag doll and it would be a big Sari. I also have a yarn doll I made a when I was younger; she's dressed for St. Lucia day and I named her Sari, after Kirsten's doll (which shows that I've loved Kirsten since I first got into AG!) A+++++

My Sari doll looks exactly like the Sari doll belonging to Felicityfan85. I love the detail and historical accuracy, surely deserves an A+. -Megan

We bought our Sari in 2004, so she is obviously Mattel. Sari is very small but looks cute when Kirsten is holding her. Her outfit is sewn on and resembles Kirsten's introductory and baking outfits. I love how her hair is styled like Kirsten's! The only problem with Sari is that her white "skin" shows dirt easily and her body is firmly stuffed, making her feel rather hard. Still, Kirsten needs her doll, and she is especially a good buy on sale. A-

Another Sari of unknown date, I got her at Goodwill and she is untagged. I love the brown line above her eyes it really makes them distinctive.

The Sari I ordered for Miss L's Kirsten doll for Christmas came today. I couldn't resist comparing her to my Sari doll, who came with my Kirsten back in 1988. My old Sari is much smaller than the current one but she has a bit more personality, don't you think?

I love the Sari doll. She is adorable and seams to be quite well made. I especially love the little golden looped braids. Too cute! I got mine in early 2007, but at the moment, I can't remember if mine was straight from AG, or from the Kirsten lot I purchased around that same time. Anyhow, here is an old photo of Kirsten with Sari:

Sari is my favorite AG "doll for your doll". She's got a sweet little face, braids like Kirsten's, calico dress and shawl that remind me of Kirsten's Meet dress, and patchwork knickers! So cute!
One of the best features about Sari is that she fits neatly into Kirsten's hand, so Kirsten can realistically carry her doll with her! She can also be tucked under the arm or just flopped into Kirsten's lap.

Of all the AG dolls' dolls, Sari has to be my favorite. She is such a cute and cuddly little rag doll. Who couldn't love her. And she's a very important part of Kirsten's stories. She's a must have for any Kirsten collector. Kirsten with Sari by Elizabeth, on Flickr SailorMolly

Sari is a really important piece of Kirsten collection. It may be, in the stories, a simple rag doll with a faded cloth dress, but it's something that was her's alone.
I actually want to just make my own Sari. : / I have a Mattel version, and she's just stiff and lifeless. Her legs don't bend, so it can be hard to make a scene that looks natural. She's cute, but for something so important to Kirsten, I want something a little different.
Despite that, my Kirsten isn't seen without her Sari. Pictures are to be added later.

Kirsten is so anxious to have her doll back in time for the holidays! "] My Sari is the Mattel version. I love how different all of the Saris have looked, and she is such a sweet little doll. I love how she looks just like Kirsten. She has the sweetest little sewn-on face. I think some of the pre-mattel faces show a little more character, but I love this one, too. I love the multiple types of fabric used. It gives Sari more of a "homemade and well-loved" feel to her. Her blue dress echoes Kirsten's meet dress, and her little pink feet are so darling. None of her pieces come off, but this type of doll I don't believe is really made to be a fashion doll, but a huggable personal companion (which she pulls off really well). I give Sari an A-. She is very important to Kirsten in the books, and is vital to her collection. If only the newer historical girls had their dolls, I would be so happy- but that's another topic for another thread. If you can find her for a good price, I would say get her. Otherwise you could probably make a just-as-adorable one from scraps.
