I just recieved this and LOVE it! It's bigger than I thought it would be. Mine looks a bit different from the one pictured above, because my brass button type pieces don't go all the way through. This is becoming my Anne of Green Gables bag! I give it an A, for complete satisfaction!

we use our bag to store all of the millions of ribbons that Kirsten has. I really like it. It is fully lined and rather well made.

I bought this on monthly special. It's really nice, but I'm not sure it should be so expensive for what it is. Don't get me wrong, I do like it, it just seems a bit overpriced. Anyway, if you're torn I would go ahead and get it since I believe it's being retired! It's a lot bigger than I thought it'd be, even with the original pictures from this thread. I like the fabric, too. A

I just got this from AG and it's a different fabric and not lined.

My friend has this from the early 90's and it's falling apart. The leather-look part at the top and the handle is coming apart at the seams. I don't know how hard her daughter played with it but it was only for a few years. It's been in storage ever since.

My, it's been a long time since a review! We just received our carpetbag from an AGFMB board member, so I can't say exactly what year it is but I'm fairly certain it's Mattel. It is not lined, as earlier versions, which actually does not bother me as it seems more rustic that way. The handles and fasteners are made of REAL LEATHER, people, and the tapestry portion is soft with a nice pattern. This carpetbag is large and very roomy - we were easily able to fit Kirsten's winter skirt, her winter blouse, her apron, three pairs of socks, and three pairs of hair ribbons inside! Even though it is not lined, I think it is just the cutest accessory and give it an A+!

Kirsten needs a carpetbag to haul things around! The bag is thick and fairly large. It has leather-looking handles and top. The "clasp" is just a flap from the back side that slides into a slot on the front. The flower motif is very pretty. The bag expands to hold quite a bit of things. As you can see, I like to keep Kirsten's St. Lucia tray and pieces in there, but it actually can fit quite a bit more than that. Note, my carpetbag is *not* lined. I give the carpetbag a B. It's very pretty and can hold quite a bit, but Kirsten can't really hold it easily and otherwise it kind of seems a little out of place when I display it. It's a beautiful piece, don't get me wrong... it's just hard to figure out what to do with it sometimes.

Kirsten's carpetbag look completely realistic. The carpet is nice and thick and the leather handles and strap are well made. It is perfect for Kirsten to store her socks in.
